Jaunt for Justice 5K

🏃‍♂️ Event Overview

• Organizers: Roanoke Valley Paralegal Association (RVPA) and Legal Aid Society of Roanoke Valley (LASRV) are hosting the fifth annual Jaunt for Justice 5K.
• Location: The event will take place at the Roanoke River Greenway at River's Edge Sports Complex - North, Roanoke, Virginia.
• Participants: Both runners and walkers are invited to register for this annual 5K.

⏰ Registration and Packet Pickup

• Deadline: Register by Friday, September 19th to be guaranteed a race T-shirt!
• Pickup Date: Race Packet Pickup will be on Friday, October 3rd, from 12 noon to 6 p.m. at Runabout Sports Roanoke.
• Race Time: The in-person race will begin at 8:30 a.m.
• Onsite Registration: Available from 7:30 to 8:15 a.m.

👦 Fun for Kids

• Event: A 0.5K Fun Run for children will begin at 8:10 a.m., prior to the start of the 5K race.
• Medal Ceremony: The Medal Ceremony for the 5K will begin at 9:20 a.m.
• Raffle: Prizes donated by local businesses will be raffled after the medal ceremony. Participants in the 5K will receive one entry into the raffle.
• Raffle Tickets: Additional chances can be purchased on the day of the race at the registration table. Presence is required to win.

☕ Post-Race Refreshments

• Food: RND Coffee will be on-site with hot coffee and their signature freshly made donuts after the race!

💼 Beneficiary Information

• Support: Proceeds from the Jaunt for Justice 5K will benefit The Legal Aid Society of Roanoke Valley.
• Mission: LASRV is a 501(c)(3) non-profit providing legal services to individuals who cannot afford them.
• Focus: LASRV protects marginalized individuals from abuse and exploitation, handling cases from domestic violence to landlord-tenant disputes.
• History: For over half a century, LASRV has advocated for under-served communities and provided leadership on social justice issues.

🌐 Virtual Participation

• Option: If unable to participate in person, you can register for the Virtual Jaunt for Justice 5K.
• Packet: Participants will receive a race packet with an event T-shirt and race bib, but will not be chip-timed or competing for a medal.
• Support: Join us to help LASRV provide free legal services for underserved and marginalized members of our community.
