🏊‍♂️ Eagle in the Sun Triathlon Overview

El Paso's premier multisport event, Eagle in the Sun Triathlon has introduced thousands to their first triathlon. Now entering its 16th year, the race is a favorite for new and experienced athletes alike and welcomes relay teams in addition to individual competitors.

🚴‍♂️ Race Details

Eagle in the Sun Triathlon begins with a 400-meter swim in a 50-meter pool. Participants then ride on a mostly flat 12-mile out-and-back bike on the Border Highway and run 5K on the Playa Drain Trail.

• Swag: First 600 participants guaranteed to receive a moisture-wicking race shirt, athlete bag, water bottle and swim cap.
• Post-Race: All participants will receive post-race snacks and drinks.
• Expo: An interactive race day Expo will be available.

• Individual: 400m swim - 12mi bike - 3mi run
• Aquabike: 400m swim - 12mi bike
• Bike-Run: 12mi bike - 3mi run
• Run/Walk: 3mi run
• 3-Person Relay: Teams of three
• 2-Person Relay: Teams of two

🗒️ Race Info

• SWAG: Participants will receive a race shirt, water bottle, finisher medal, run bibs and bike numbers, an athlete bag and more!
• Packet Pickup:
  • FRIDAY, September 12th, 4pm - 7pm - Location El Paso Swim and Tennis Club (2510 N. Saint Vrain, EPTX 79902)
  • SATURDAY, September 13th, 10am - 1pm - Location La Mente Behavioral Health (6600 Montana Ave #P, EPTX 79925)
  • Packets: Every athlete must pick up his or her own race packet. Packet pick-up will require photo proof of identity (driver’s license, passport, etc.) and USAT Membership Card.
