- Categories: Ruck with 25lbs or more weighed before and at finish line. Weighing available at 06:30 at the Darby Statue.
- Registered Teams: Gather at 06:45 at the Darby Statue.
- Distances: 13.1 mile, 10K 6.2 mile and 5K 3.1 mile options.
- Parking: Available throughout downtown Fort Smith: should be easily obtainable for participants.
🗺️ Route Information
- Starting Point: General William O. Darby statue in Cisterna Park.
- Route Overview: The route continues down “A” Street to the Greg Smith River Trail, turning north along the Riverfront to Fort Smith Park.
- Return: The return route doubles back along the trails to the starting point.
- Honoring General Darby: Participants will have the opportunity to honor General Darby upon completion.
📅 General Information
- Inaugural Event: The Fort Smith General Darby Challenge honors General William O. Darby and Fort Smith’s twin cities.
- Timing: A non-sanctioned but timed half-marathon open to military and civilians alike.
- Recognition: Best times will be awarded special recognition in the 13.1 mile events.
- International Event: Held the same weekend as Nago-Torbole, Italy's Col Darby 40 Mile Ranger Challenge.
