🏃‍♂️ Welcome to the 2025 Cougar 5K Challenge

🎯 Our Purpose

• Event Host: Every year the Columbus State Staff Advisory Council hosts the Cougar 5K Challenge to raise money for student course textbooks and supplies scholarships.
• Significance: The cost of course material is a significant and often overlooked barrier to finishing college.
• Support: Your participation and support of this race will help us to provide course material scholarships.
• Goal: Help students “cross the finish line” of their education.

📝 Registration

• Options: You can sign up for the in-person or virtual events.
• Team or Individual: Register as an individual or as part of a team.
• Fundraising: Opportunity to become a fundraiser or to make a donation during registration.

🌐 How Does a Virtual 5K Work?

• Timing: Run or walk the 5K wherever and whenever between May 3th and May 10th.
• Participation: All participants will receive a participation medal, a race shirt, and a swag bag.
• No Medals: Placement medals will not be awarded for the virtual format due to inconsistencies.
• Further Instructions: We'll send a follow-up email closer to the event to explain how to submit your race time.

⏱️ How to Submit Your Times for Results

Manual Method

• Distance: Run/walk your 5K (3.1 mile) distance anywhere and anytime from May 4 to May 12.
• Record Time: Record your run/walk time on a piece of paper or phone.
• Access Results: Make sure you are logged into runsignup.com and locate the "Results" tab.
• Submit: Click "Submit Virtual Results" button to locate your participant information and submit.

Automatic Method (optional)

• Download: Download the RaceJoy App.
• Locate Event: Find the Columbus Cougar 5K Challenge event in the App.
• Use Course: Use the Race Anywhere course when you run/walk your 5K.
• Submit Times: Submit your times through the app at the end of your 5K.

Friday, May 2 10:00 am to 4:00 pm

Alternatively, pick up your packet the day of the event. Arrangements will be made for participants unable to pick up packets.

Note: During registration, you can choose not to receive a shirt and/or medal. Savings will go directly back to student scholarships.
