🏅 About the Event
The Chris Hixon Memorial 5k, will honor the memory of Chris Hixon: a friend, Coach, Father and great human being. All proceeds will support the Chris Hixon Athletic Scholarship foundation.
🕊️ Remembering Chris Hixon
- Tragic Event: Christopher Hixon was a victim of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting on February 14, 2018.
- Courage: He ran towards the shooter to protect innocent lives and continued to stand guard until police arrived.
- Career: Chris was an Athletic Director, Coach, and Campus Monitor during his 20+ year career in Broward County Public Schools.
- Legacy: A scholarship was created in his name for student-athletes at the schools where he worked.
