The Austin Solstice Circuit Challenge at Lake Travis is a multi-distance loop race featuring six competitive distances on a scenic 1.55-mile paved figure-8 course. This July event combines morning races for shorter distances with sunset-to-sunrise racing for longer distances, creating an unforgettable running experience for participants of all abilities.
Participants compete for a chance to win part of a $1,300 prize pool and complete a set number of loops based on their chosen distance:
The distinctive figure-8 course features a smooth asphalt surface throughout, making it perfect for both day and night running. The main loop connects to a smaller upper loop. The course is fully marked with reflective markers for nighttime visibility with clear mile markings.
Morning runners enjoy cooler temperatures for the shorter distances, while evening participants in longer distances journey through sunset into the stars. Relay teams can share the adventure, with each member running a portion of the 52.7-mile challenge. The paved course offers a consistent, predictable surface that's ideal for night running.
