8th Annual Colonel 5k with SPA Color Pop Run!

🏃‍♂️ Event Overview

The perfect place to set a Personal Record (PR)! The Colonel 5k course and event is designed for all levels of runners and walkers to reach a personal best. The course was designed by Nicholls Track & Field and Cross Country to take the community on a tour of campus and the recreation path where they run fast intervals. We hope you enjoy being cheered on by Colonel Track & Field and Cross Country while cruising this fast, flat course to a new PR!

🎉 Partnership with SPA

This year we are partnering again with SPA to offer free entry for all Nicholls State University Students and some color pop to our run!

• Free entry: for all Nicholls State University Students.
• Color pop: SPA will have several colored powder stations that will "pop" throughout the race!

🏅 Awards and Recognition

Prize packages will be awarded to top Male & Female overall finishers and top Male & Female masters finishers. Male and Female age group winners will be recognized with medals. Nonbinary awards will be made based on online entries by 4/28 or will be made after the race & mailed if there are entries/finishers in that category.

• Race Day Registration: available for $35, but race t-shirts are not guaranteed after 4/28.
• Kids 1k: All participants will receive a medal for being a Hope Lodge Champion!

📅 Event Schedule

6:30AM Race day registration opens $35 and closes 15 minutes prior to start.

8:00AM Colonel 5k Starts!

Food & Fun after the race.

• 9:15AM: NEW Kids 1k $15 with proceeds benefitting the Ross Mullooly Project: Outrunning Cancer.
• 9:45AM: Colonel 5k Awards.
• Early Registration: with a shirt- $30 (T- Shirt guaranteed through April 28th, online registration stays open until 5/7).

Course: Start and Finish is on Alumni Drive, next to lot 12 (Alumni tailgating spot) near Guidry Stadium.

• Route: Straight on Alumni Drive.
• Directions:
  • Right on Hwy 1
  • Right on Rienzi Circle
  • Right on Hwy 1
  • Right on Colonel Drive
  • Right on Leighton Drive
  • Left on Alumni Drive
  • Left on Ardoyne Drive
  • Right on Recreation Path before Bowie Road
  • Follow Recreation Path around Manning fields
  • Right on NSU Afton Drive
  • Right on Alumni Drive
  • Straight on Alumni Drive to finish

👶 Kids 1k Course
