🏅 In Honor of Jeff Scuffins

• Background: This year (2025) will represent the third year in which this event will be held in honor of local legend Jeff Scufffins.
• New Addition: This will also be the first year in which we will be adding a four-person relay to race schedule.

🏆 Jeff Scuffins' Legacy

• High School Achievements: Jeff Scuffins (Scuff) was a well-established track and cross-country standout who graduated from North Hagerstown High School in 1980.
• Records: Scuff was a MD state track champion and the owner of still-standing school records for 1,600 (4:18.94) and 3,200 (9:25) meters.
• Junior College Success: While attending Hagerstown Junior College, now Hagerstown Community College (HJC/HCC), Jeff earned two Junior College National Championship titles.
• Meet Record: He set a meet record of 13:53.0 with his first title in 1981.

🎖️ Further Accomplishments

• College Career: Jeff later competed for Clemson University, where he graduated in 1985.
• Post Graduate Achievements: He has a well-documented postgraduate running career with notable performances.
• Marine Corps Marathon: His most notable performance being his record-setting win at the 1987 Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, D.C.
• Course Record: His course-record time of 2:14:01 still stands.

🎉 Race Details

• Location: This event will take place in the historic portions of northern Hagerstown, MD.
• Start and Finish: Near Oswald Park located at 211 Prospect Ave.
• Course: Participants will compete on a certified 5000k/3.1 mile loop that will require them to complete two laps.
• Start Times: The kid's race will start at 7:45 am with the main event starting at 8:00 am.
