Down Syndrome Association of Brazos Valley Run "With A Little Extra"

• WHAT: The 6th Annual Down Syndrome Association of Brazos Valley "Run With a Little Extra" Trail Run and Walk
• CAUSE: The Down Syndrome Association of Brazos Valley (DSABV)

RACE DAY CHECK IN BEGINS AT 7:00AM! Please check in at the tables at Millican Reserve and we will give your your chipped bib. Volunteers will be on site to assist you.

This is a chipped, professionally timed event. All distances will take place on trails (NOT paved) through the Millican Reserve property. All registration before March 16, 2025 will include a collectible t-shirt, finisher medal, and Rudy's breakfast tacos served after the race. Registration after this date will include a finisher medal and Rudy's breakfast tacos served after the race.

• FOUNDED: Founded in 2002, DSABV is a registered non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.
• SERVICE: Supports individuals with Down syndrome and other special needs reach their highest level of independence and productivity.
• COMMUNITY: Our community-based support allows us to host and sponsor regular social activities.
• MISSION: Our mission and purpose is for everyone with Down syndrome to have the skills and experiences they need to live the life of their choosing.

🎉 WHY THE "LITTLE EXTRA"?

• EXTRA CHROMOSOME: All people with Down syndrome have an extra, critical portion of chromosome 21 present in all or some of their cells.
• DEVELOPMENT: This additional genetic material alters the course of development and causes the characteristics associated with Down syndrome.
• EXTRA MILES: Although 5Ks are usually 3.1 miles, our run will have an extra, optional .11 miles, making our 5K a 3.21 mile run.
• EXPANSION: Over the years we have expanded our 5K to include a 10K and Half Marathon - all with a little extra!
