• WHAT: The 6th Annual Down Syndrome Association of Brazos Valley "Run With a Little Extra" Trail Run and Walk
• CAUSE: The Down Syndrome Association of Brazos Valley (DSABV)
• WHEN: Saturday, March 29, 2025

📅 RACE DAY DETAILS

• CHECK IN: Race day check-in begins at 7:00 AM! Please check in at the tables at Millican Reserve and we will give you your chipped bib. Volunteers will be on site to assist you.
• EVENT TYPE: This is a chipped, professionally timed event. All distances will take place on trails (NOT paved) through the Millican Reserve property.
• REGISTRATION: All registration before March 16, 2025 will include a collectible t-shirt, finisher medal, and Rudy's breakfast tacos served after the race.
• LATE REGISTRATION: Registration after this date will include a finisher medal and Rudy's breakfast tacos served after the race.

🤝 ABOUT DSABV

• MISSION: Founded in 2002, DSABV is a registered non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that supports individuals with Down syndrome and other special needs reach their highest level of independence and productivity.
• COMMUNITY SUPPORT: Our community-based support allows us to host and sponsor regular social activities, provide educational programs, conferences, workshops, and community events.
• PURPOSE: Our mission and purpose is for everyone with Down syndrome to have the skills and experiences they need to live the life of their choosing.

🎉 WHY THE "LITTLE EXTRA"?

• GENETIC FACT: All people with Down syndrome have an extra, critical portion of chromosome 21 present in all or some of their cells.
• COURSE ADJUSTMENT: Although 5Ks are usually 3.1 miles, our run will have an extra, optional .11 miles, making our 5K a 3.21 mile run - to celebrate the extra chromosome, hence "with a little extra".
• EXPANSION: Over the years we have expanded our 5K to include a 10K and Half Marathon - all with a little extra!
