Every year since the 1980s, the AdventHealth Silver Classic 5k Run 3K Walk draws crowds from across central Texas. Seventh-day Adventist pastor Ernest Dobkins organized the run/walk. The name “Silver Classic” comes from the fact that runners who would place first received ounces of silver as a reward.
💰 Fundraising Purpose
Today Silver Classic serves as the primary fundraiser for AdventHealth’s Wellness Department.
- Proceeds: Support wellness initiatives in the community.
- Services: Fund free services and educational classes.
- Timing: Participants of the Silver Classic race are chip-timed.
- Categories: Competitors are placed in gender groups based on age.
📝 Registration Information
- NO SAME DAY REGISTRATION: Registration closes Saturday, March 22 at 11:59 PM CST.
- Early Registration Fee: $30 ends March 7 at 11:59 PM CST.
- Increased Fee: After March 7, the registration fee will increase to $40.
