Event Overview
"Peter's Run 5K Race & The Bryant Mile" is hosted by the Rose of Sharon Laymen's League in Bear Grass NC. The 5K race will be for runners that enjoy the spirit of competition. We will recognize the winners in all age groups for both men and women. The date will be September 26, 2026. It will be professionally managed by Run The East.
The Bryant Mile
- Purpose: This mile is for those that would like to walk in support of the Project.
- Honoree: It is named after and in memory of Pastor Bryant Hines who went to be with the Lord in 2017.
- Tradition: Participants will stop and eat a donut at the halfway point.
- Pastor's Legacy: Pastor loved to take his church members on field trips, ending with a quick stop at Krispy Kreme.
Fundraising Purpose
- Beneficiary: Profits will aid Project Empty Tomb, helping Bear Grass Charter School's Food Pantry.
- Program Support: Funds will also support the Rodgers Elementary Book Bag Program.
- Community Impact: The success of this fundraiser aims to expand assistance to others in need.
- Spiritual Goal: To draw attention to the tomb that Jesus left empty on Easter Sunday.

- Registration: 7:00 AM
- Opening Devotion: 8:00 AM
- Peter's Run 5K Race: 8:15 AM
- The Bryant Mile: 8:15 AM (Not Timed/No Awards)
- Awards: 9:15 AM
Finish Line Celebration
At the finish line, we eat! Sausage Dogs and Donuts!
Weather Policy
Inclement Weather: In case of weather that causes the race to be canceled, there will be no refunds.
Registration Fees
- 5K: $20 + registration fee through 9/07/2025
- 5K: $25 + registration fee on/after 9/08/2025
- The Bryant Mile: $20 + registration fee
Awards and Categories
Awards will be given to the top 3 male and female 5K finishers overall and in the following age categories: 12 and under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+.
