Expedition 12K Trail Race

🏞️ WHEN & WHERE:

Sunday April 27, 2025 at Lewis & Clark Caverns State Park in Cardwell, Montana

📝 REGISTRATION:

• Includes: chip timing, park entry, a custom race shirt plus additional custom item, post-race brunch and drink, and a chance to win top awards and raffle prizes.

🏃‍♂️ COURSE:

• Type: Primarily single-track trail with a few asphalt road crossings.
• Vertical: Cover 2,200+ ft. of vertical gain and 2,100+ ft. of vertical loss.
• Condition: The trails are typically dry and clear of snow and mud: however, mid-April can be unpredictable.
• Preparation: Prepare for various weather conditions.

💧 AID STATIONS:

• Number: There are 2 cupless aid stations along the course.
• Personal Supply: You must provide your own cup/hydration system.
• Reusable Cup: Consider purchasing your own reusable race cup with race registration.

📦 PACKET PICKUP:

• Date: Saturday, April 26 at Bozeman Running Company from 10AM - 5PM.
• Race Morning: Pickup from 8 AM - 8:45 AM at the park, reserved for traveling runners.
• Benefit: Picking up on Saturday helps kick off the race on time.

🚗 CARPOOLING:

• Encouragement: We highly encourage you to carpool to the event if possible.
• Management: Helps manage parking spots and reduce our carbon footprint.
• Instructions: Please follow the parking attendants upon entering.

🌿 TRAIL CARE:

• Policy: This is a cupless race: help keep the trail clean.
• Leave No Trace: Pack all trash, GU packets, and wrappers with you.
• Trail Rules: Stay on all designated trails and follow the race flags.
• Mud and Snow: Run through mud and snow sections, not around them.

🏆 Awards:

Awards will be distributed to top Male, Female and Non Binary categories.

📜 RACE POLICIES:

• This race does not qualify for bib transfers, cancellations or rollovers.
• Refund Option: For refunds, purchase REGSHIELD Race Insurance at registration checkout.
• Refund Process: If purchased, request a refund through the confirmation email from REGSHIELD.
• Note: Refunds are not managed by Bozeman Running Company: they must be handled through REGSHIELD, a FANSHIELD product.
