- Event: The Running To Honor 5K is a timed, family friendly walk (or run) focused on keeping the memory of our Fallen Soldiers &: Veterans alive and reminding others that Freedom is never free.
- Date: Saturday, July 26th, 2025.
- Location: Heritage Park located at 12111 Pardee Rd, Taylor, MI 48180.
- Start Time: 8:00 AM for the 5K walk (or run) in front of the Sheridan Pavilion, with the Kids .5K starting at 7:30 AM.
🌍 Theme and Purpose
- Theme: This year’s theme is the Afghanistan War, which lasted from 2001 to 2021.
- Education: We aim to educate the community about the Afghanistan War and honor our Fallen Soldiers.
- Memory: The event is dedicated to keeping the history and memory of those who made the ultimate sacrifice alive.
- Remembrance: Participants will walk (or run) in memory of our fallen heroes as we say their names.
🤝 Proceeds and Support
- Beneficiaries: Proceeds raised from this event will go to the Taylor Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 4422 and Running To Honor organizations.
👨👩👧 Family Friendly Activities
- Discounted Registration: We offer a special discounted price for families bringing kids 14 and under to the 5K walk (or run).
- Kids .5K: A .5K (Point 5K) event is available for younger participants, roughly .31 miles.
- Encouragement: These options aim to encourage families to support the cause together.
- Community Engagement: If you can't walk (or run), come enjoy the atmosphere and view the names and pictures of our Fallen Soldiers and Veterans.
