This race is held by the Lakeland Runners Club, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission to promote running and fitness for people of all ages and abilities in the community.
π Race Celebration
- Historic Event: Celebrate 46 years of the Mayfaire 5k Road Race and Walk with an evening run or walk.
- Scenic Route: The course leads through downtown Lakeland and the historic Lake Morton district.
- Art Collaboration: The event coincides with the annual Mayfaire by-the-lake art festival.
- Participation: Walkers are welcome, and the course is chip-timed on a USATF-certified route.

The race starts at 7:00 PM on Main Street near the Amtrack train station.

- Online Registration: Open until Tuesday, May 6.
- Onsite Registration: Available during packet pickup on May 9, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
- Second Opportunity: Onsite registration also available on race day, May 10 from 5:00 to 6:45 PM.

Early packet pickup will be held at the Cleveland Heights golf course clubhouse on May 9 and at the Lake Mirror Center on May 10.
- Friday: May 9 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
- Saturday: May 10 from 5:00 PM to 6:45 PM.
- Locations: Cleveland Heights Golf Club - 2900 Buckingham Ave, Lakeland, FL 33803.
- Lake Mirror: Promenade - 121 S Lake Ave, Lakeland, FL 33801.

The course passes by Lake Mirror before heading downhill and around Lake Morton, then proceeds to an out-and-back up and over Success Ave before returning to Lake Morton. Runners climb Iowa Ave before descending to the finish on the Lake Mirror Promenade.

- Results: Available on the Lakeland Runners Club website.
- Award Categories: Overall male and female, masters, grandmasters, and various age groups from 9 and under to 85+.
- Awards Presentation: After the last finisher, around 8:30 PM on the Promenade.
- Note: We are unable to mail bibs, shirts, medals, or awards.
β Safety & Weather Guidelines
NO dogs, bicycles, roller skates, or in-line skates will be allowed on the course. The use of headphones is discouraged. Strollers need to stay at the back of the race.
- Weather: The Mayfaire 5k will happen rain or shine. Safety conditions will be monitored closely.
- Heat Advisory: Stay hydrated and wear light clothing to combat high humidity.
- Lightning Policy: Visible lightning will delay the race to ensure safety.

This race is nonrefundable. If you can't attend, please initiate a registration transfer officially through Manage Your Registration until one week before the race.
π Race History
The first Mayfaire 5k was held on May 10, 1980. There were 64 entrants, and the winner was Mike Wachholz of Jacksonville, FL who finished in 14:00.
