🏅 About Coach Becky Baker

• Background: Becky Baker was a longtime track and field and cross country coach at Indio High School.
• Education: She graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota, where she played tennis.
• Professional Career: As a United States Professional Tennis Association teaching pro, Becky taught at tennis and country clubs in Minnesota and in California.
• Athletic Accomplishments: She competed in 5K and 10K road races and half marathons, and earned her Master’s Degree in Kinesiology from Cal Poly Pomona.

🎉 Coaching Legacy

• Tenure: Hired to teach Health and Physical Education, Baker was the head cross country and track and field coach for 23 years.
• Achievements: Her girls' teams earned a collective 23 Desert Valley League Titles.
• Community Impact: Coach Baker was a pillar in the running community and a genuine advocate for youth.
• Continued Legacy: It is our goal to keep the memory of Coach Becky Baker alive while continuing her legacy for youth advocacy and empowerment through athletics.
