Andy Payne Route 66 Race

🏃‍♂️ Race Overview

On April 12, 2025, the Claremore Museum of History and the Cherokee Nation will officially kick off Oklahoma's Route 66 centennial celebrations with the Andy Payne Route 66 5K and Fun Run. The race benefits the Claremore Museum of History and its efforts to preserve the history and legacies of prominent Claremore citizens. It also honors Cherokee Nation citizen Andy Payne, who won the International Trans-Continental Footrace in 1928, running 3,423 miles along Route 66 from Los Angeles to New York City.

📍 Location

• Venue: Claremore High School, 201 E. Stuart Roosa, Claremore, OK 74017
• Fun Run: Takes place at the Claremore High School track.
• 5K Start: Located west of the intersection of E. Stuart Roosa and Florence Avenue.

🅿️ Parking

• Available Locations: Parking is available at Claremore High School or Will Rogers Junior High School.
• Traffic: E. Stuart Roosa will be closed to traffic for this race.

• Fun Run: 8 AM
• 5K: 8:30 AM

🏆 Course Details

USATF sanctioned/certified 5K course with electronic timing by Tatur Racing. Medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each gender and age group category.

👕 Shirt Information

Registration for a guaranteed T-shirt closes at midnight on March 27. Shirts are not guaranteed when registering after this date, and we will not exchange shirt sizes.

🌐 Virtual Race

Runners who sign up for the virtual race by midnight on March 27 are guaranteed a shirt. T-shirts will be mailed after race day.

📦 Packet Pick-up

NOTE: We will not exchange shirt sizes. Choose your correct size at the time of registration. In-person race shirts will not be shipped.
