2025 Blacksburg Classic 10 Miler & 5K

🎉 Event Overview

Come join the fun at the 40th edition of the Blacksburg Classic 10 Miler &: 5K presented by Skip Slocum and Associates, Roots Realty Group, the first event of the RunAbout Sports 2025 Race Series. Both races start at Margaret Beeks Elementary School and feature a course that runs briefly through the Miller Southside Neighborhood before hitting the popular Huckleberry Trail. Don’t miss the opportunity to experience one of the New River Valley’s “classic” running events while also making progress on your fitness goals for 2025.

⏰ Race Details

• Race Start Time: 10 Mile &: 5k Races start at 9 AM
• Finisher Medals: All 10 Miler finishers receive a medal.
• Shirts: Long sleeve shirts to 5K and 10-Mile runners who register before midnight Feb 9
• Fun Run: A free one-mile fun run will also take place at 8:30 AM, fun for the whole family!

• Packet Pickup: Friday Feb. 21 @: RunAbout Sports Blacksburg 3-6 PM
• Race Day Packet Pick-Up: 7:30 AM - 8:45 AM @: Margaret Beeks Elementary School
• Fun Run Start: 8:30 AM: Free 1 Mile Fun Run presented by Adjust NRV
• Race Start: 9:00 AM: 10 Mile &: 5K Start

🏆 Awards

Awards will be given out for the overall top three male and female finishers and by age groups. Runners are eligible for one award which will be determined in the following order of priority: overall, masters, grand masters, age group. Awards are based on gun time.

10-Miler

• Through Dec 31: $34 (plus online processing fee)
• Jan 1: Price increases to $37.00 (plus online processing fee)
• February 9: Price increases to $45.00 (plus online processing fee)
• February 21: Price increases to $50.00 (plus online processing fee)

5k

• Through Dec 31: $24 (plus online processing fee)
• Jan 1: Price increases to $27.00 (plus online processing fee)
• February 9: Price increases to $35.00 (plus online processing fee)
• February 21: Price increases to $40.00 (plus online processing fee)

🏞️ Course Information

The 5K and 10 mile routes share the first 2.6 miles at which point the 5k turns left, returning to Margaret Beeks and the 10mi continues straight for an out-and-back on the Huckleberry Trail.

• Aid Stations: Aid stations are at 2 miles, 4.5 miles, 6 miles, and 8 miles.
• Gu Gels: Available at aid stations #2 and #4.
• Cutoff: The 10 mile course has a soft cutoff of 3 hours after race start.
• Pace Requirement: Participants must maintain a pace of 18 mins per mile.
