The Preserve at Lakewood is a 120-acre parcel of land featuring forest land, dirt trails, and parking for 200. The land is home to countless plant and animal species, including red cedar and maple, hickory and flowering dogwood trees, and various wildlife.
Join us at the nature preserve for an event that welcomes every level of runner! This event takes an interesting twist on the backyard style of racing!
This style of event welcomes all paces and levels of runners. Whether you're aiming for your first 50k or pushing your limits with a 50-mile challenge, this race is for you.
The course will be trail, rolling, and partly shaded. Bring your 10 x 10 pop-up, a lawn chair, and letโs make it a party!
This event is held at a nature preserve with an old barn repurposed as an educational center for sustainability and renewable energy. The 2-mile course is held on a wide grass path with a few rolling hills. Look for deer, birds, and a few foxes during your run!
The Nature Preserve has no water or power source. Please make appropriate plans for your nutritional needs outside. We will have a basic aid station at the start/finish line that may include:
Athletes are permitted to have a drop bag or personal tent near the aid station in the open field next to the start/finish line loop. Please ensure you place your belongings off the course to avoid impeding runners and maintain a smooth flow of traffic.
When you finish your race, please pack in and pack out to help keep the host facility looking its best.
