🌳 About The Preserve

The Preserve at Lakewood is a 120-acre parcel of land featuring forest land, dirt trails, and parking for 200. The land is home to countless plant and animal species, including red cedar and maple, hickory and flowering dogwood trees, and various wildlife.

Join us at the nature preserve for an event that welcomes every level of runner! This event takes an interesting twist on the backyard style of racing!

⏰ Race Format

• Timed Lap Challenge: 2 Mile Loop with Descending Time Cutoffs
• Cutoff Rules: Each lap has a cutoff time that is one minute less than the previous lap.
• Final Lap: The first runner to complete the 31st lap will be declared the winner.
• Feel Free to Ring: If you fail to complete the loop in the required time, please ring the cowbell and turn in your race bib.

🏃‍♂️ Participation Levels

This style of event welcomes all paces and levels of runners. Whether you're aiming for your first 50k or pushing your limits with a 50-mile challenge, this race is for you.

The course will be trail, rolling, and partly shaded. Bring your 10 x 10 pop-up, a lawn chair, and let’s make it a party!

• When: All Race Distances will start at 6:30am (100k, 50mi, 50k, 26.2, 13.1)
• Packet Pickup: Please arrive 1 hour prior to the race start

🗺️ Course Details

This event is held at a nature preserve with an old barn repurposed as an educational center for sustainability and renewable energy. The 2-mile course is held on a wide grass path with a few rolling hills. Look for deer, birds, and a few foxes during your run!

🚰 Aid Stations

The Nature Preserve has no water or power source. Please make appropriate plans for your nutritional needs outside. We will have a basic aid station at the start/finish line that may include:

• Snacks: pickles, cookies, chips, Little Debbie snacks, assorted candy, chicken/veggie broth, fig newtons, & pretzels.
• Liquids: water, Tailwind Nutrition, coke, and ginger ale.
• Donations: Feel free to donate an aid station supply of something we do not offer or that is homemade!
• Note: This is a cup-less event. Please provide your own hydration vessel for use at our aid stations.

🎪 Personal Tent Set Up & Drop Bags

Athletes are permitted to have a drop bag or personal tent near the aid station in the open field next to the start/finish line loop. Please ensure you place your belongings off the course to avoid impeding runners and maintain a smooth flow of traffic.

When you finish your race, please pack in and pack out to help keep the host facility looking its best.
