Lace up your sneakers, lean forward and get ready for the 11th Annual Tear Drop Half Marathon! If you’re looking for a fast and scenic half marathon then join us on Sunday, April 27, 2025!
📍 Course Details
- Starting Location: All distances will start on top of Fort Mountain at an elevation near 3000 feet.
- Finish Line: Finish in Chatsworth, Georgia, for an over 2000-foot drop for the Half Marathon.
- Certification: All courses (13.1, 10K, 5K) are USAT&F certified.
- Scenery: Enjoy a scenic route through the Cohutta Wilderness Area.
🎽 Race Details
- Start Times: 7:30 am for the Half, 7:50 am for 10K, 8:05 am for the 5K.
- Pavement: All racecourses are on paved roads with predominantly downhill sections.
- Race Extras: Beautiful CUSTOM medals for all finishers.
- Post-Race: Enjoy live music, hot food, cold drinks, and great raffle prizes!
🅿️ Parking & Shuttle
- Parking Location: Runners park at the City Park finish area and are shuttled to the start.
- Shuttle Departure: Buses will start at 6:00 am, with various departure times based on last names.
- Bus Time Considerations: Be mindful of your departure times to avoid missing the bus.
- Last Bus Warning: Arrive on time, or risk being moved to a shorter race.
📅 Registration & Pick-Up
- Pick-Up Times: Bib/t-shirt pick-up at City Park Pavilion on Saturday, 4/27 from 2-5 pm.
- Same-Day Registration: In-person registration is available on race day.
- Room Reservations: Courtyard Dalton may still have some rooms available at a special rate.
- Dining Options: Saturday dinner options in Chatsworth will be announced closer to the event.
🚿 Facilities & Support
- Water Stations: Each distance will have designated water stations and portable toilets.
- Clothing Drop: Discarded clothing will be stored and returned to the finish area.
- Medical Support: SAG vehicle will follow the last runner to ensure safety.
- Hydration Encouragement: Carry your own hydration if needed, as water station placements may vary.
🏆 Awards
- Finisher Medals: All finishers will receive a beautiful medal.
- Age Group Awards: Awards for top finishers in different age groups for each race distance.
- Overall Winners: Plaques will be awarded to top male/female and masters in the Half marathon.
- Results Check: Check your placement at the scorer table after the race.
🎉 Food, Drink, and Entertainment
- Food Vendor: BBQ by George will serve delicious pulled pork BBQ and more.
- Drinks: Cold beer available for participants 21 and over.
- Live Music: Enjoy music from 9 am-11 am while you relax and recover.
- Participants Count: Expect to meet fellow runners and make new friends!
💖 Get Involved
- Charity Support: Partnering with Murray Arts Council to fund local arts and performances.
- Volunteer Opportunities: Cheers to those who wish to donate their time on race day!
- Community Contribution: Together, we’ve raised over $10,000 to support local initiatives.
- Drop-Off Procedure: Half marathon participants can be dropped off at the start but must leave immediately.
