11th Annual Tear Drop Half Marathon, 10K & 5K

🏃‍♂️ Event Overview

Lace up your sneakers, lean forward and get ready for the 11th Annual Tear Drop Half Marathon! If you’re looking for a fast and scenic half marathon then join us on Sunday, April 27, 2025!

📍 Race Details

• Elevation Start: All distances will start on top of Fort Mountain at an elevation near 3000 feet.
• Courses: All courses (13.1, 10K, 5K) are USAT&F certified.
• Location: Chatsworth is 80 miles from Atlanta, 40 miles from Chattanooga and 10 miles from Dalton.
• Scenic Route: The scenic route through the Cohutta Wilderness Area and finishes at beautiful City Park in Chatsworth welcomes racers of all abilities.

🏞️ Course Description

• Downhill Benefits: Features 7 miles of 5-10% grade downhill for the 13.1, 5 miles downhill for the 10K and 2 miles for the 5K.
• Climbs: The Half Marathon will run an out and back on top of the mountain, encountering several climbs.
• Finish Line: The finish line will be located at beautiful City Park in Chatsworth.
• All Paved Roads: The racecourses are on all paved roads.

• Post-Race Amenities: Enjoy live music, post-race hot food, cold drinks, and beer for participants 21 and over.

🕒 Race Day Schedule

• Start Times: 7:30 am start time for the Half, 7:50 am for 10K, and 8:05 am for the 5K.
• PARKING: Runners park at the finish and are shuttled to their specific race start location on top of Fort Mountain.
• BIB Pickup: At City Park Pavilion: Saturday, 4/27 from 2 pm until 5 pm, and race day 6:00 am-7:00 am.
• Shuttle Buses: Buses making multiple round trips from City Park to Ft. Mnt starting at 6:00 am.

🚌 Transportation

• Shuttle Details: The 20-25 minute bus ride to the top of Fort Mountain, where the race starts at a scenic overlook.
• Bus Schedule: Alphabetical loading for the buses to avoid congestion.
• Drop Off: Only allowed for Half Marathon start: no personal drop-off for 10K and 5K.
• Warm-up: Caution is advised when warming up on the roads.

💧 Water Stops & Facilities

• Bathrooms: Each distance will have bathrooms at their start area.
• Water Stations: 4 water stations for the Half and 2 for the 10K and 1 for the 5K.
• Hydration: We encourage you to carry your own hydration if you feel that the support isn't adequate.
• Garbage Disposal: Garbage cans will be placed near water stations for proper disposal.

🏆 Awards and Recognition

• Finishers' Medals: All finishers will receive a beautiful medal!
• Age Group Awards: Awards for age group placements in the Half, 10K, and 5K.
• Overall Winners: Plaques for overall winners in the Half Marathon (top male/female and masters male/female).
• Photo Opportunities: TrueSpeed Photos will provide on-course pictures.

🍔 Food, Drink & Entertainment

• BBQ: BBQ by George serving pulled pork BBQ, veggie dogs, and more.
• Cold Drinks: Beer for participants 21 and over.
• Live Music: Enjoy music from 9 am-11 am to accompany your recovery.
• Community Fundraising: Support to the Murray Arts Council through race donations.
