This run benefits the Chicago Park School PTA, the Chicago Park 4-H Club, and the Peardale/Chicago Park Firefighter’s Association.
🛣️ Course Details
- Starting Location: Begins across the street from Chicago Park School
- Terrain: Winds through beautiful back country roads and trails, along Rollins Lake shore, and parts of the Old Emigrant Trail (dirt & paved terrain)
- Restrictions: No dogs are allowed on course
- Registration Note: After Dec 19, registration does not include a race t-shirt
💰 About the 4-H Club
The Resolve2Run 5K/10K/Walk is an annual fundraiser for the Chicago Park 4-H Club. Our club, the oldest continuously running 4-H Club in California, has been firmly planted in this community since 1929. We are committed to the youth of Nevada County, providing amazing opportunities for our 100+ members to learn and grow through our many projects, such as:
- Animal Raising: Beef, sheep, swine, goats, rabbits, and poultry
- Creative Projects: Sewing, fine arts, crafts, aeronautics, and website design
- Skill Development: Biking, survival skills, cooking, and much more
- Community Service: Annual Fire Safe Clean Up for the elderly
🌱 Benefits of the Race
We also partner with Chicago Park School PTA and Peardale-Chicago Park Volunteer Firefighters to provide this run which is an opportunity to start the new year with healthy habits. We felt that it was important to have a run available at the time when people are making resolutions, giving them the chance to begin right away, starting with this race.
🎓 Scholarships and Support
- Enrollment Costs: Funds raised enable us to keep the enrollment costs for our members reasonable
- Scholarships: Provided for graduating seniors who have excelled in leadership and service
- Livestock Auctions: We participate in buying animals at the Nevada County Fair’s Youth Livestock Auction
- Government Education: Buyers at the DC Delegates Cake Auction to enable youths to visit our nation’s capitol
