🎉 Event Details
- Date: December 7th, 2024
- Location: Cairn University, 200 Manor Ave., Langhorne, PA 19047
- Distance Options: 5K (3.1 miles) or 1-mile fun run/walk
- Virtual Option: Participate from anywhere worldwide during the weekend of December 6-9.
👕 What You Receive
- All Participants: Long sleeve T-shirt, candy canes, hot chocolate, marshmallows, Christmas cookies, post-race water, and bananas.
- Top Finishers: Special prizes for both individuals and teams of three or more.
- Costume Contest: Awards for best costumes in addition to race performance.
- Encouragement: Race in festive attire like ugly sweaters or Christmas outfits!
🏫 About the Event
The Candy Cane 5K is a collaborative event between Cairn University, ChoiceOne, AlphaCare, and RUN 12:1 Running Club to raise money for the New Horizon Scholarship Fund. This initiative provides support to new mothers who chose to continue their education after unplanned pregnancy.
🚦 Race Information
- Course: Paved road race over a rolling terrain course on the Cairn University campus.
- Parking: No parking in lots D or E. Follow event signs to lot C or upper campus lots.
- Check-in: 9:00 am - 9:45 am.
- Start Time: Both races start at 10:00 am, rain or shine.
💲 Registration Fees
- Pre-registration: $35
- On-site Registration: $40 (limited availability)
- Alumni, Faculty & Staff: $30
- Students: $20
🏅 Divisions and Awards
- Overall Winners: Top 3 Male and Female
- Age Group Awards: Recognition for various age divisions.
- Costume Prizes: For the best Christmas themed costumes.
