🏖️ The Fools Run 5K & 10K

Join us on April 4, 2025 at Margaritaville Beach Resort, South Padre Island, TX for an exciting 2-day event! Bring your family and friends, and please dress up in your most foolish costume as you tackle the 5k and/or Chip Timed 10K course!

Proceeds benefit Walk for Women, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to helping women in the lower Rio Grande Valley fight breast cancer.

🚻 Facilities

• Restrooms: Male and Female restrooms will always be open throughout the hotel for participants.
• Parking: Valet parking available for purchase and limited complimentary lot parking on site.
• Hydration: Stations will be provided at Margaritaville and at halfway points on the race courses.
• Entertainment: Award ceremonies and live music will be held immediately following the race/walk at Margaritaville Beach Resort!

🏃‍♂️ Race Course Details

• 10K: This 6.2-mile course starts and ends on the beach at Margaritaville Beach Resort. Water and Gatorade stations will be provided along the course and at the finish line. This is a chip-timed course with the option to walk and/or run.
• 5K: This 3.1-mile course also starts and ends on the beach at Margaritaville Beach Resort. This is a participation walk, but jogging and running are allowed.
• Kids 1 Mile: This race starts and ends on the beach at Margaritaville Beach Resort.

🏅 Awards & Presentations

• Medals: Medals to be given to the overall 1st male and female winners, and 1st through 3rd place winners in each male and female age division of the 10K.
• Special Prize: The overall top male and female winners will receive a special prize in addition to their medals. Note that overall winners are ineligible for age division awards.
• Finisher Medals: All participants crossing the finish line will receive finisher medals (while supplies last).
• Costume Contest: Participants are encouraged to dress up in their most “foolish” costume for a chance to win a prize for “best costume”!

📅 Registration Information

To receive a T-shirt, you must register for the event by Friday, March 1st, 2025! Finisher medals will be limited while supplies last! All registrations are non-refundable and the event will continue rain or shine!

🕒 Schedule of Events

• Friday, April 4, 2025:
  • 1:00 - 7:00 PM: Packet Pickup at Margaritaville, Late Registration, Wellness Fair Event
  • 5:30 - 7:00 PM: Live Music, Complimentary Margarita voucher (21+), Hors d'oeuvres
• Saturday, April 5, 2025:
  • 7:30 AM: 10K run starts/ends on the beach in front of Margaritaville
  • 7:45 AM: 5K walk and Kids 1 Mile starts/ends on the beach
  • 9:15 AM: Awards & Costume Contest
  • 10:00 AM: Hotel breakfast available for purchase: show bib for discounted rate
  • 11:00 AM: After Race Pool Party with DJ at Salty Rim Bar
