🏃♀️ Event Overview
- Host Organization: Women In Training, Inc. (WIT), a youth empowerment nonprofit organization that works to end period poverty.
- Date & Time: Sunday, March 2, 2025, at 7:00 a.m. CST.
- Location: Montgomery Whitewater, Montgomery, AL.
- Purpose: Raising funds to distribute #WITKITS of menstrual, dental, and hygiene supplies.
🎉 Race Events
- In-Person WIT 5K: (3.1 miles) starting at 7:00 AM CST for a timed result with awards for overall and age group categories. All participants receive a unique WIT 5K t-shirt.
- Virtual Participation: A VIRTUAL WIT 5K Run/Walk for those unable to attend in-person. Shirt, bib, and medal will be mailed, and results can be submitted online.
📦 WITKITS Campaign
- Goal: To provide menstrual products and hygiene items to low-income individuals who menstruate.
- Impact: After the pandemic, one in four girls could not afford period products, affecting their attendance at school and work.
- Health Risks: Many girls use unsafe items due to their inability to afford proper products.
- Contribution: Since July 2019, WIT has distributed over 30,000 WITKITS annually across Alabama.
🏆 Awards
- Participant Medals: All 5K participants will receive a PARTICIPANT MEDAL.
- In-Person Winners: Overall male and female winners receive unique trophies: age group winners receive special medals.
- Overall Winners: Awards for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place for both men and boys, and women and girls.
- Age Groups: Awards for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place in various age categories for both males and females.
