🎉 A Midwinter Celebration
Join us for an untimed run-walk-roll event that promises fun and community spirit.
🎯 Choose a Goal
- 50 Minutes: Group Send-Off at 10:00 a.m. Run, walk, roll, dance, or strut your way around the park.
- Decorations: Art, crafts, music, costumes, signs, posters, cowbell-clanging, etc. are strongly encouraged.
- Celebrate: Reach your goal of 50 minutes of continuous movement and ring the big bell!
- 50 Kilometers: Complete 46 loops from 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Ring the bell and personalize your trophy!
🏃♂️ Events
- 50 Miles: Complete 75 loops from 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Start early as it is very challenging.
- Encouragement: Participants are encouraged to begin as early as possible.
- Personalized Trophies: Check in with the organizers to personalize your trophy!
- Join Us Anytime: Registration is encouraged (and free): anyone can join for any distance.
🏞️ The Course
- Loop Details: A .66 mile loop on asphalt and concrete, which includes 1 hill and 2 flat sections.
- Elevation Gain: Each loop has 49 feet of elevation gain, making it challenging.
- Comparison: 26 miles on the course yields an elevation gain of 1,911 feet: the NYC marathon has 810 feet.
- Loop Direction: Clearly marked and will change every hour.
💧 Accommodations
- Refreshments: Gatorade, water, nutrition, and restrooms will be provided.
- Data Tracking: Participants will use their own devices for digital data: thumb-click lap-counters provided.
- Results: Honor system - results are based on participants' integrity.
- Analogue Focus: This event is about community and enjoyment, not just the numbers.
💰 Contributions
*To offset pretzel costs, we will accept 50-cent cash contributions at the event - a mere suggestion, not a fee. Pocket change for pretzels.
