Kirby Derby Race Description

Race Date and Location

• Date: May 2, 2026
• Location: Forest Reserve Park, Monticello, IL

Event Purpose

• Health & Activity: Participating in the Kirby Derby is a great way to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle while having fun.
• Proceeds: All the proceeds go to the development of the Wellness Trail provided by the Kirby Foundation.
• Registration: For more information and online registration, click on the links above.
• T-shirt Deadline: 11:59 PM CST on April 3, 2026!

Registration Details

• Registration Time: Open until 7:30 AM on race morning.
• No Cash: No cash registration available at the park on race morning.
• Mobile Registration: Same day registration will be completed on your mobile device.
• Event Switch: Deadline to switch events is 12 PM the day before the race.

Bib and Shirt Pickup

• Pickup Dates: Friday from 4-5:30 PM or on race morning 6:45-7:45 AM.
• Pickup Location: Both will take place at the park pavilion.

Race Day Information

• Announcements: National Anthem at 7:45 AM.
• Race Start: The race will start promptly at 8 AM.
• Course Note: This is not a closed course: community informed, alternate routes encouraged.
• Traffic Volunteers: Volunteers at every intersection to help guide participants and stop traffic.

Water Stations

• First Stop: By Nick's Park.
• Second Stop: By Monticello Laundry.
• 10K Runners: Will pass the second stop twice.

Award Ceremonies

• 5K Awards: Ceremony starts at approximately 9 AM.
• 10K Awards: Follow immediately after the 5K awards.
