Nise’s Race was created in loving memory of my mom, Catherine Denise Thompson, affectionately known to many as “Nise.” On October 13, 2018, after a courageous 5-year battle with cervical cancer, she passed away.

- Health Steps: With regular check-ups, health screenings, and the HPV vaccine, women can take vital steps to prevent and detect cervical cancer early, when it's most treatable.
👩👧👦 About Catherine Denise Thompson
- People Person: She was a true “hugger” who radiated warmth.
- Career Passion: Loved working with children as a paraprofessional at Scoggins Middle School and Dallas Elementary School.
- Family Life: A devoted wife to Army veteran Larry Thompson, they shared 36 years of marriage.
- Legacy: She passed away at the age of 56, leaving behind three daughters and two grandsons.
