Scranton Half Marathon

⏰ Start Times

• Half Marathon Run: 8:00 AM
• Half Marathon Walk: 6:45 AM

📋 New Run/Walk Category

• Details: A new run/walk category is available for the half marathon.
• Registration: Select this option if you plan on combining running and walking.
• Start Time: Run/walkers will start at 8 AM with the runners.
• Cutoff: Held to the Elm Street cutoff time below.

🚦 Elm Street Cutoff Time

• Safety Notice: The race course will remain open to participants reaching the Elm Street trailhead.
• Cutoff Time: 10:15 AM, requiring an 18:00 minute/mile pace for runners and a 28:00 minute/mile pace for walkers.
• Failure to Meet: Participants unable to meet the cutoff will be redirected and will not complete the full course.

🕒 5k Run Cutoff Time

• Safety Notice: A 50 minute cutoff time for all 5k participants.
• Pace Requirement: 16 minute per mile pace to complete the race.
• Impact: Times not recorded for those finishing outside of the cutoff.

💻 Virtual Participation

• Distance: Run or walk the half marathon distance from April 3 to April 6, 2025.
• Results Submission: Submit times to scrantonhalfresults@gmail.com.
• Cost: $55, including bib, finisher shirt, medal, and gift.
• Pickup: Virtual race swag available during expo hours or mailed for distant participants.

🚶‍♀️ Half Marathon Walk

• Start Time: Begins at 6:45 AM.
• Timing: Fully chip timed.
• Awards: Overall Male and Female finishers recognized.
• Safety: Walkers must remain on sidewalks until the lead police vehicle passes.

👶 Kid's Fun Run

• Bibs and Medals: Participants will receive a bib and finisher medal.
• Times: 1/4 mile runs start at approximately 8:15 AM.
• Age Groups: Separate runs for ages 5-6 and 7-8: 1/2 mile runs for ages 9-10 and 11-12.
• Infield Safety: All participants must exit the infield by 9 AM.

📅 Race Dates and Times

• 5K: 3:00 PM (Saturday, April 5)
• Half Marathon Walk: 6:45 AM (Sunday, April 6)
• Half Marathon: 8:00 AM (Sunday, April 6)
• Doherty Double: Consists of both the 5K run and Half Marathon run, walkers not permitted.
