Please join us for the 2023 Cabot Schools Inspiration Run.
What: The inspiration run is a 23 mile-ish run where we run through all of the Cabot Schools campuses. We stop at each school to high five the kiddos and talk to them about fitness and the importance of living a healthy lifestyle.
When and Where: Friday, 11/1/2024. We will meet in the church parking lot right across from Ward Central at 7:15 AM for the start. Coach Kelly Spencer and Coach O will be giving us instructions regarding the flow of the day and important safety reminders.
Do I have to run the whole thing: No absolutely not! You are welcome to but most runners will take shifts. We will definitely need more runners in the afternoon portion, because this is usually when we have less runners. You are free to hop in and out of cars and run as much or as little as you like.
Can I bike: Absolutely!
🚗 Support and Participation
What if I can not keep the required pace: That's ok!!! We need support vehicles as well. Support vehicles drive behind the runners to each school and provide aid such as water and nutrition as well as still run into all the schools and high five the kiddos and promote fitness and a healthy lifestyle to our Cabot kids!!
What do I need to do in order to participate: Please register on Runsignup and sign the waiver online!
More Info: All waivers will be signed by registering on Runsignup (link below) this year. We need everyone to register to participate whether you are running, biking, or a support vehicle. You do not have to be a Cruiser to participate. https://runsignup.com/Race/AR/Ward/CabotCruisersInspirationRun
Snacks and Drinks: It is a fun but LONG day. Snacks and drinks along the way in support cars is very helpful as we are traveling from 8 AM to 2:30 PM. Please bring snacks and drinks to share. We will have coolers to keep things cold.
🚴 First-Time Participants
\How it works: We run, bike, drive 26ish miles to all of the schools of the Cabot School District. The kids are outside waiting for us to cheer us on as we run up to the school. We then give a speech about the importance of fitness and a healthy lifestyle, and how fitness is fun.
Dress Code: Please wear Cruiser or CABOT gear or RED, BLACK, and WHITE!
Restrooms: Bathrooms will be available to use at each school. It is important that we avoid bathroom stops if at all possible while we are en route to the next school.
Meeting Point: We start the day by meeting at the church directly across from Ward Central Elementary. We will meet there at 7:15 AM to get briefing from Kelly Spencer and Jamie Oitker, our district liaisons, as well as the police and school security.
🏅 Logistics and Safety
Transportation: We understand that you may not be able to commit your entire day. You can start and end your day at whichever school you need to. I will say we ALWAYS need more people in the afternoons! I will send the schedule as soon as I can. Please keep in mind you are responsible for your own transportation back to your car/starting point if you are not staying for the entire day.
Support Vehicles: If you are staying for the entire day, we will have support vehicles committed to taking you back to the church after we finish up at Magness Creek Elementary.
Pacing Guidelines: There are specific paces and distances to be run between each school. Typically, the average is a 10:30-11:30 overall pace for the day. However, you do NOT have to run the entire time. You can jump in and out of cars as needed between schools.
Group Effort: Whether you are running, biking, or driving, we all run up to each school together. We need everyone to make this a successful day!
