👟 Strides for Sierra 5K Run/Walk

Join us Sunday October 6th at 9:00am for the 4th Annual Strides for Sierra 5K run/walk fundraiser. Get your sweat on running or enjoy a leisurely stroll through the beautiful neighborhood surrounding Sierra Elementary! Starting at 10:00am the little ones can participate in a 1K fun run around the Sierra track. Afterwards stay and enjoy the Race Village with vendors, food, drinks and activities for the kids all while supporting the Sierra Elementary PTA!

🏅 Race Details

All 5K Registrants: will receive a Race Shirt (if registered prior to Sep. 18th), a chip timed Race Bib, and a finisher bracelet.
Packet Pick-up: Early packet pick-up on Friday, October 4th at Sierra Elementary from 2:30-5:00pm (Recommended). Race day pick-up will be available starting at 8:00am.

💔 Support for the Zimbelman Family

Many of you know the Zimbelman’s and the challenges they are facing. If you do not know about the challenges, Mary Zimbelman, our former PTA President and the original founder of the Strides for Sierra 5K, is currently facing unexpected financial burdens due to her husband Gabe's ongoing battle with cancer. Despite his courageous fight since being diagnosed with intestinal cancer in April 2023, the situation has unfortunately taken a turn for the worse. In light of these circumstances, we are coming together to offer our support to Mary, Gabe, and their children Nicholas and Lizzy during this incredibly challenging time. Our aim is to alleviate the financial strain caused by medical expenses, allowing the Zimbelman family to focus on what truly matters - being together in these precious moments.

While no longer leading the 5K, this presents a wonderful chance for the race she established to show appreciation for her significant contributions. Please join us in extending a helping hand to the Zimbelman family as they navigate through this difficult journey. There is absolutely NO OBLIGATION to donate to this cause and has no connection to the PTA or race.
