🍂 Welcome to the High Country Turkey Trot
We are back on the Boone Greenway Trail for the 14th Annual High Country Turkey Trot!
🏃♂️ New for 2024: Choose Your Race
- Options: Choose from a 5k or 10k timed trail race or an untimed 5k Fun Run/Walk.
- Scenic Routes: The 5k and 10k trail races will take you on a scenic trip through the woods via The Greenway and Kennedy Trails.
- Paved Trails: The Fun Run/Walk 5k will utilize all paved trails throughout the park.
🎉 Event Highlights
- Costume Contest: Get creative and join in the fun!
- Prizes: Top 3 Men's & Women's Racers will be awarded prizes.
- Finisher Medals: All participants will receive custom High Country Turkey Trot T-Shirts.
- Live DJ: Enjoy music on-site during the event!

🏆 About the Event
The High Country Turkey Trot is the LARGEST 5k & 10k in the High Country. Join the fun on Thanksgiving morning 2024!
⏰ Start Time
- 10k Timed Trail Race: Start Time: 8:30 AM
- 5k Timed Trail Race: Start Time: 9:00 AM
- Fun Run/Walk: Will begin once all timed runners have cleared the start line.

- 5k & 10k Race: Greenway Trail + Path – partially paved, mostly grass and wooded trail/dirt.
- Fun Run/Walk: Greenway Trail - 100% paved.
🏅 Awards
- Finisher Medals: All finishers will receive a custom High Country Turkey Trot finisher medal!
- Overall Winners: Top 3 overall men and women will receive custom HCTT swag and a stick boy pumpkin pie!
- Age Groups: Top 3 in each age group will receive custom HCTT swag! Age groups are as follows: 9 & Under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+.
- First Aid: Provided by Watauga Medics, stationed at the start/finish line.
