26th Annual Scheels Turkey Trot

🏃‍♂️ Event Overview

Before you settle in for a day of Thanksgiving feasting and football, head outside for a large serving of healthy family fun at the annual Scheels Turkey Trot! This annual running and walking event is a great way to burn calories and give back to the community. Race proceeds ($2 per runner) will go to Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful and Amateur Radio Emergency Services.

📅 Race Day Details

RACE DAY:

🏃‍♀️ 2 Mile Event

• Start Time: Begins at 8:30am in the Scheels parking lot
• Course: 1 clockwise lap around the Sparks Marina
• Starting Point: Look for start flags at the southwest side of Scheels parking lot

🏅 10K Event

• Start Time: Begins at 8:30 am in front of Scheels
• Course: Starts line in front of Scheels heading out towards Sparks Blvd.
• Timing: Timed event (bib required)
• Awards: Results posted at runsignup.com
• Age Divisions: 1st-3rd place in divisions: 12-14, 15-17, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-64, 65+

🚗 Parking Information

The event will have open parking throughout Legends except in the front where the event will be taking place. Sparks PD will be directing traffic where the roads are closed into Legends. Streets will start closing at 7:30 am, so we recommend coming early: 1,700+ participants will be trying to get into Legends. Please do not move equipment where parking is not available. This is for the safety of the participants and volunteers.

👶 Strollers & Dogs

We encourage the use of jogging strollers along the route of this family-friendly event. However, out of consideration for other participants, dogs will not be allowed on the course (except for registered and licensed service dogs).

📦 Pre-Packet Pick Up

Friends and family are welcome to pick-up your packet for you! November 25th - November 27th, 9 am - 9 pm at Scheels 2nd floor meeting rooms. Shirt sizes are not guaranteed.
