🦃 Race Overview
Turkey Trot includes both a FREE 1K Kids non-competitive fun run and a competitive 5K, professionally-timed race offered on Thanksgiving morning. All proceeds from the entry fees go towards our Annual Campaign. The Portage Township YMCA's mission is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind, and body for ALL. Our campaign helps provide financial assistance to individuals and families in our community. The money raised helps ensure our friends and neighbors have access to programs and services that provide food, shelter, chronic disease management, education, and physical activity.
💰 Registration Fees
- Early Registration: $25 before Oct. 1
- Early Registration: $35 from Oct. 1 - Nov. 26
- On Site / Race Day Registration: $45 (cash and check only)
🎽 5K Race Details
5K Race includes a Long Sleeve event shirt and Custom Finisher Medal. NEW ROUTE FOR 2024!!!!! Due to the fantastic support from our community and continued growth of our event, we’ve decided to adjust our route to better accommodate our participants. Please see the new race route posted below.
🏆 Awards
Awards will be presented for each race as follows:
- Top Overall Male & Female
- Top Masters Male & Female
- Top 3 Male and Female in age groups: 4-7, 8-10, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69 and 70 & up
🏃♂️ Training Group
Training group available: Group will meet for 8 weeks on Saturdays, 8:00-9:00 am at the YMCA. First Training Day October 5, 2024.
👶 Child Care
Free child watch is available during the race. Turkey Trot shirt is included in 5K race fee only. Shirts are guaranteed for registrants through 11/1/2024. Additional shirts will be available for purchase until 11/1/2024.
📅 Packet Pickup
Packet Pickup is on November 27th from 2pm-7pm OR on race day beginning at 7AM.
⏰ Race Day Timeline
- Day of Packet Pickup: 7am
- Day of Registration: 7am
- 1K Kids Run: Line up 7:50am, Start Time 8am
- 5K Runners: Line up 8:20am, Start Time 8:30am
- 5K Walkers and Strollers: Start immediately following the runners
- Awards: Approx. 9:15am
