5th Annual South Gulf Cove CCT Furry Scurry 5K (Feb. 1st 2025 8am)

🐾 Welcome to the Furry Scurry

The Conservancy and Community Trust of South Gulf Cove would like to welcome you to our 5th Annual South Gulf Cove CCT Furry Scurry 5K Walk/Run. All ages are welcome to join us for this Dog-Friendly Walk/Run in the South Gulf Cove Community.

🏃‍♂️ Race Details

• Date & Time: February 1st, 2025 at 8:00 am
• Location: 14859 Ingraham Blvd, South Gulf Cove, Port Charlotte, FL
• Courses: 3.1-mile for runners and a special 1.5-mile course for Dog Walkers
• Chip Timed: This is a Chip Timed event to benefit local Animal Shelters and Rescues.

🐶 Beneficiaries

The proceeds will be donated to the following:

• Englewood Animal Shelter (EARS)
• Suncoast Humane Society Englewood
• The German Shepherd Rescue in Punta Gorda
• The Labrador Retriever Rescue of Florida

🎉 Post-Race Celebration

We will be grilling up some free hotdogs and supplying some brews after this event to celebrate all the participants. There will be raffles and silent auctions with some great prizes, so bring some extra cash.

We will also offer a Virtual version of this race for our Furry Friend lovers from out of the area. Because this Race is a fundraiser, there will be no Refunds.

📦 Packet Pickup

• Race Morning: Starting at 6:30 am
• Early Packet Pickup: Friday 1/31 from 5-8 pm at 14859 Ingraham Blvd. Port Charlotte, FL 33981
• Race Times: 8:00 am start for Runners: Walking will follow after the runners start
• Mutt Strut: Starts at 8:40 am — Please arrive early for parking.

🏆 Event Awards

5K Chip timed Walk/Run includes a race t-shirt, custom chipped bib, participation medal. The top 3 in all categories will take home an award.

• Awards: M/F - Overall, Masters (40+), Grandmasters (50+), Senior Grandmasters (60+), Veteran Grandmasters (70+)
• Age Groups: Top 3 Male and Female in multiple age groups from 9 and under to 80+

  • $25.00 before Aug. 31st
  • $30.00 before Nov. 30th
  • $35.00 before Jan. 5th
  • $40.00 after Jan. 5th

🌟 1.5 Mile Mutt Strut

• Registration Fee: $25.00 before Jan. 5th
• After Jan. 5th: $30.00

📅 Additional Information

5k Discount for Running Clubs and Children under 18: $5.00 off after 9/1. Virtual Event: This event is done at your leisure. We will mail a finisher medal and t-shirt for those who sign up.
