35th Annual Shadow of the Giants 20k & 50k
Experience the Magic of the Sierra National Forest
Join us for the 35th Annual Shadow of the Giants 20k & 50k, an unforgettable race through the scenic and historic trails of the Sierra National Forest.

⏳ Time Limit for 50k

• Duration: 8 hours - 9 hours with an Early Start

📅 Important Notice

• Pets: Pets are not allowed on the trail, so please leave your furry friends at home.

🏕️ Pre-Race Accommodations and Dinner

• Stay Onsite: Stay onsite the night before the race on Friday, June 6th at Camp Green Meadows in the dorms.
• Lasagna Dinner: Join us for our traditional pre-race lasagna dinner on Friday, June 6th at approximately 5:45 PM in the Green Meadows Dining Hall.

🗓️ Race Day Schedule

• 50k Start Time: 7:00 AM
• 20k Start Time: 7:15 AM
• Early Starts: 6:00 AM (Early starters are not eligible for overall awards: they are eligible for Age Group Awards)

Course Information

• Maps: Detailed course maps and updates will be provided closer to race day.

🥤 Aid Stations

• Location: Roughly 5-7 miles apart.
• Supplies: Well-stocked with food, gels, electrolyte drinks, water, Coca-Cola, ginger ale, and a variety of sweet and salty snacks.

📋 Guidelines

• No: Drop bags, pacers, or dogs.
• Allowed: Poles are permitted.
• Mandatory: Fun and smiles!

🎉 Post-Race Celebration

• Location: Green Meadows to cheer on fellow runners.
• Food & Beverages: Provided in the Dining Hall.
• Bring: A chair, a pop-up tent or umbrella to enjoy the camaraderie.

🎟️ BIB Pickup

• When: Friday, June 6th from 3:00 PM - 5:30 PM.
• Where: Camp Green Meadows Outdoor School in Fish Camp, CA, in the Cafeteria.
• Race Day Bib Pick-Up: Saturday, June 7th from 5:40 AM - 6:45 AM in the Cafeteria at Camp Green Meadow Outdoor School.
• Notice: No pets or dogs are allowed on the Green Meadows Campus, except for service animals.

🏠 Staying at Camp Green Meadows

• Arrival: Do not arrive before 1:15 PM on Friday, June 6th.
• Check-In: Begins at 1:30 PM in the Cafeteria. Bunks are first-come, first-served.
• Facilities: Showers and restrooms available onsite.

🍝 Pre-Race Dinner

• Time: Starts around 5:45 PM - 6:00 PM in the Cafeteria at Camp Green Meadows.
• Menu: Lasagna, salad, bread, and drinks.
• Tickets: No additional tickets will be sold as meals are prepared based on pre-orders.

🚗 Parking Guidelines

• Road Access: Ensure clear access in and out of Green Meadows.
• Parking Locations: Park on the shoulder if the parking lot is full.
• Alternative Parking: Park off Jackson Road for a half-mile walk to the finish line.

🔀 Changing Distances

• Switching: You may switch to the 20k distance up until race day.

⏰ Course Cutoff

• Time: The cutoff time for completing the 50k course is 3:00 PM.
• Early Starters: Have until 3:00 PM to finish, giving them a total of 9 hours.

📅 Start Times for Saturday, June 7th, 2025

• 50k Early Start: 6:00 AM (Please be self-sufficient until Aid Station #2)
• 50k Regular Start: 7:00 AM
• 20k Start: 7:15 AM
