Overview

The 4th Rat Race, hosted by the Huron Booster Club, is an annual fundraiser to support all sports offered at Huron! Home of the River Rats, Huron is a comprehensive high school in the Ann Arbor School District, with a student population of nearly 1900 students. It has one of the largest populations of Schools of Choice students and low-income students in Washtenaw County.

Importance of the Event

• Research Findings: Research shows that high schoolers who participate in sports manage stress better, feel a stronger sense of community, and are at low risk of engaging in risky behaviors.
• Accessibility: We want to make interscholastic athletics accessible to all students.

Registration Details

• Discounted Rate: Huron students and staff can register for a discounted rate. Must provide school ID at check-in!
• Event Conditions: Event will happen 'rain or shine' so be prepared for whatever Mother Nature sends us! There are no refunds.

Event Format

• 5k: The 5k is chip timed.
• Mile: The Mile is an untimed event with a running clock provided.

Race Day Information

• Registration/Pickup/Check-In: Opens at 8:30 and will be located underneath Huron's iconic 'Arch' at the heart of campus.
• Parking: Can be made in the campus lots. Preferred location is the lot by the football stadium or the lot by the Huron Spirit Rock / Tennis courts. Entrances to both off of Fuller Road.
