✨ About the Race
- Oldest Half Marathon: Interested in running the oldest half marathon in Oregon?
- Scenic Route: Race alongside the beautifully scenic John Day River!
- Distances: Choose between the full 13.1 miles, or tackle the 5k or 10k.
- Support Local: All profits go to the Spray Rodeo Association and local community fund.
🏞️ The Course
- Start Times: Half Marathon at 8 AM, 10k at 8:30 AM, 5k at 9 AM.
- Elevation: The surface is paved with a twelve-foot rise from start to finish.
- Walkers: Half Marathon Walkers start at 7 AM.
- Traffic: Participants will run with traffic on the right side of the road.
📝 Notes
- Restrooms: Portable restrooms at Service Creek and the 10k start.
- Drinks: Liquids available at four places along the course and finish line.
- Halfway Point: Halfway for the half marathoners will have refreshments.
🏆 Awards
- Categories: Awards for male and female winners in age categories: 13 and under, 14-19, 20-29, etc.
- Belt Buckles: Overall male and female half marathon winners receive top-notch belt buckles.
- Plaques: Plaques for overall winners in the 5k and 10k, plus age division winners.
- Ceremony Time: Awards ceremony begins promptly at 10:45 a.m.
🚌 Transportation
- Bus Schedule: Bus departs Spray School at 7:00 a.m. sharp for all runners.
- Start Point Drops: Runners are dropped at the start of their event.
- Return Transport: 5k and 10k runners get back on the bus after the half marathon starts.
- Walker Transport: Walkers need to arrange a ride to the starting line for the 7 a.m. start.
🥘 Food, Beverage, and Other Accommodations
- Showers: Showers available at the school: hot water is limited.
- Fundraiser Breakfast: Breakfast available at the school for Spray HS athletics.
🚨 Other Information
- Traffic Precautions: The race will be run entirely on the south/river side of the highway.
- Race Safety: Watch for vehicle traffic at all times: the highway will not be closed.
- Family Event: Non-runners can accompany participants, but must not interfere.
- Course Monitors: Authorized to disqualify anyone acting in an unsafe manner.
