Welcome to the 42nd Annual Shiprock Marathon, Half Marathon & 5K

Shiprock Youth Center – Friday, May 2 & Saturday, May 3, 2025

The 2025 Shiprock Marathon will provide a unique and memorable running experience the first weekend of May in Shiprock, New Mexico!

🏁 Event Details

• 5K Trail Race: Will take place at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 2 on the Blueberry Hill course, beginning and ending at the Youth Center.
• Marathon: Begins at 7:00 a.m. with the start/finish area in Shiprock. Runners competing for awards should start at the front.
• Half Marathon: Starts at 7:30 a.m.
• Team Races: Available for both the 5K and Half Marathon. Gather four friends to form a team!

🎶 Course Experience

• Out-and-back road course: Includes views of Shiprock Pinnacle and a gentle long downhill slope on the return.
• Live music: Enjoy performances by Dark Sky, Red Hawk, Pinon Pickers, Mountain Spring, and Skoolboykook along the course.
• Course Support: Expect great support and festivities throughout the race!
• Packet pick-up: Available at Shiprock Youth Center parking lot on Friday from 2:00-7:00 p.m. and Saturday from 6:00-6:45 a.m.

🚗 Race Day Logistics

• Parking: Please take a moment to review information about race day parking for an exciting and busy event.
• From Farmington hotels: Drive west on Hwy 64, approximately 30 miles to event parking.
• If coming from the south: Event parking is on your left as you enter Shiprock. Our parking team will assist you.
• Amenities: Explore a variety of lodging options in Farmington, NM, just 30 miles from Shiprock.

🥇 The Finish Line

• Food Area: Enjoy a hearty snack box, beverages, Domino’s pizza, and treats from Jose’s Food Tent upon finishing.
• Post-Race Party & Awards: Live music and food, with awards for top finishers, including medals for all Marathon and Half Marathon finishers.
• Overall Awards: Presented to top-three male and female finishers, along with age-group awards based on 10-year intervals.
• Safety Team: Kudos to Navajo Nation EMS and our volunteers ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience!

🌍 Additonal Information

• Race Certification: This year’s race is USATF-certified and is a Boston qualifier!
• Abbott Marathon Majors: Shiprock Marathon will be a qualifier for the Abbott Marathon Majors Masters World Championships!
• Pacing Support: Beast Pacing will provide professional pacers for your goals during the event.
