Shiprock Marathon

🎉 Welcome to the 42nd Annual Shiprock Marathon, Half Marathon & 5K

Shiprock Youth Center – Friday, May 2 & Saturday, May 3, 2025

The 2025 Shiprock Marathon will provide a unique and memorable running experience the first weekend of May in Shiprock, New Mexico!

🏃 Event Details

• 5K Trail Race: The 5K will take place at 5:00 p.m. on May 2 on the Blueberry Hill course, beginning and ending at the Youth Center.
• Awards: Awards for top individual (overall and age-group top three) and team winners. All runners receive a performance t-shirt, race poster, swag, and post-race snacks.
• Marathon Start: Begins at 7:00 a.m. with the start/finish area in Shiprock. Expect to see overall and age-group award competitors in the front.
• USATF Certified: This marathon is a USATF Certified Course.

💪 Half Marathon

The Half Marathon will start at 7:30 a.m.

👥 Team Races

• Team Opportunities: Both the 5K and Half Marathon offer team events where friends can run together to compete or just have fun.
• Team Requirements: Each team needs a minimum of 5 members to compete for awards.
• Registration: Register as a team by answering YES to “Would you like to join or create a Team?” Only the first person needs to create the team name.
• No Extra Cost: There is no additional cost to register as a team.

🎶 Course Highlights

• Scenic Views: The out-and-back road course includes views of Shiprock Pinnacle.
• Course Support: Expect great course support and live music along the way from various local artists.
• Musical Performances: Artists include Dark Sky, Red Hawk, and others, providing a variety of music styles.
• Overall Experience: Enjoy the festive atmosphere while running through beautiful landscapes.

📦 Packet Pick-up

Packet pick-up will take place at the large Shiprock Youth Center parking lot on Friday from 2:00-7:00 p.m. and again from 6:00-6:45 a.m. on Saturday morning.

🚗 Race Day Parking

Race day in Shiprock is exciting and busy, so please review this information about parking:

• From Farmington: Drive west on Hwy 64, about 30 miles, then continue straight through the stoplights to find event parking on the right.
• From the South: Event parking will be on your left as you enter Shiprock, with staff to assist you.
• Parking Assistance: Our parking team will help you get parked and situated for your big event!
• Lodging Options: There are various lodging choices in nearby Farmington, NM.

📊 Race Day Logistics

• Results & Timing: Results will be managed by Rocky Mountain Timing, available via QR codes or at www.rmtiming.co.
• The Course: Aid stations every mile will offer gels, fruit, Gatorade, and other refreshments.
• Medical Support: Medical assistance will be available throughout the course and at the finish line.

🥳 The Finish Line

• Food Area: Finishers receive a hearty snack box and can grab pizza from Domino's by showing their bib.
• Post-Race Party: Live music and awards ceremony will take place at the finish line.
• Awards: Medals will be awarded to all finishers along with age-group and overall awards.

🏅 Race Qualifications

This year’s race is USATF-certified and is a Boston qualifier!

And Shiprock Marathon will be a qualifier for the Abbott Marathon Majors Masters World Championships!
