Shiprock Marathon

🏃‍♂️ Welcome to the 42nd Annual Shiprock Marathon, Half Marathon & 5K

Shiprock Youth Center – Friday, May 2 & Saturday, May 3, 2025

🌄 Race Overview

The 2025 Shiprock Marathon will provide a unique and memorable running experience the first weekend of May in Shiprock, New Mexico!

🏅 Event Details

• 5K Trail Race: Takes place at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 2 on the Blueberry Hill course, starting and ending at the Youth Center.
• Awards: Awards for top individual (overall and age-group top three) and team winners.
• Swag: All runners receive a performance t-shirt, race poster, swag, and post-race snacks.
• New Events: Ashlynne Mike Mile at 11am and Elder’s Run at 3pm, fun-run style with finishers medals.

🏃‍♀️ Marathon and Half Marathon

• Marathon Start: Begins at 7:00 a.m. with the start/finish area in Shiprock.
• Course Certification: Shiprock Marathon is a USATF Certified Course, making it a Boston Qualifier.
• Cash Prizes: $300 for overall winners and $200 for runner-up in Marathon and Half Marathon.
• Age Groups: Awards to the top 3 in 5-year increments.

👥 Team Races

We offer Team Races for all races, providing an opportunity to run with friends, with teams required to have five members to qualify for awards. To create a team, simply answer YES during registration.

🏞️ Course Highlights

• Scenic Views: The out-and-back road course includes views of Shiprock Pinnacle.
• Downhill Slope: Enjoy a gentle long downhill slope on the return.
• Live Music: Expect live music featuring a variety of genres along the course.
• Artists: Performers include Dark Sky, Red Hawk, Pinon Pickers, Mountain Spring, and Skoolboykook.

🏁 Race Day Logistics

• Packet Pick-up: At the large Shiprock Youth Center parking lot on Friday from 2:00-7:00 p.m. and again from 6:00-6:45 a.m. on Saturday.
• Parking Directions: Detailed directions for parking depending on your arrival route will be provided.

🍕 The Finish Line

• Food Area: Hearty snack boxes and beverages will be available, along with food from local vendors.
• Post-Race Party: Live music, great food, and award presentations will follow the races.
• Awards: Medallions, plaques, and Native arts and crafts for overall and age group winners.
