Event Overview
Join us for our annual Dash For Dogs 5K and Strutt Your Mutt Dog Walk and help out needy dogs in our community and beyond. Every day our caring staff and volunteers help dogs and other companion animals in so many ways- providing shelter, care, healthy food, a warm blanket, needed medical care and behavioral support and enrichment. Come walk or run the course along the beautiful Androscoggin Riverwalk path. This is one of the few events in Maine that allow you to also bring your dog (must be current on vaccinations and NO flex-lead leashes). There is also an option to participate virtually.

Location: 55 Strawberry Avenue, Lewiston, ME
This event is held RAIN OR SHINE and starts promptly at 9:00 a.m.
Important Information
- Refund Policy: We do not offer refunds for this event.
- Packet Pickup: Saturday, April 25 from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the shelter.
- Course Directions: Start at the Humane Society (55 Strawberry Ave). Go right out of the parking lot, left at the stop sign onto Tall Pines Drive, the trailhead is where the road curves right. Follow the trail to the end (Sunnyside Park), turn around, and come back.
- Virtual Participation: An option is available to participate virtually.
Prizes
- Top Finishers: Top male and female finishers in each age group (both running with and without a dog).
- Best Dressed Pet: Prize for the best dressed pet.
- Raffle Prizes: All registered participants will be entered to win raffle prizes donated by local businesses.
- Top Fundraiser: Prize for the top fundraiser.
Registration Information
- Early Bird Registration: $25 until December 31.
- Regular Registration: $30 from January 1 to April 25.
- Same-Day Registration: $35 (in-person until 8:30 a.m. only).
- Kids Registration: Free for kids under 8 years old (no dogs please).
Deadline for Shirt Orders
Deadline for shirt orders is April 10th.
