💧 Mission
- Goal: Provide clean and safe drinking water for the rural regions of Sierra Leone.
- Impact: Dirty water threatens lives and destroys livelihoods on a devastating scale.
- Challenges: Severe issues with farming due to localized drought and soil erosion have caused short supplies of needed food to the villages.
- Partnership: We are partnering with Seven Hills Global Outreach and Zion Ministries for their support.
🎉 Event History
- Milestone: Beginning our 13th year, we have raised over $160,000 for clean water projects.
- Invitation: Come be a part of this life-saving event.
- Bib and T-shirt Pickup: Available at First United Methodist Church, Garland on October 18th from 4 to 7 pm.
- Race Day Pickup: On-site registration begins at 6:30 am on the day of the race.
🌳 Trail Information
- Path: The 5K will be run on the Duck Creek Greenbelt trail.
- Conditions: The path is cement and goes through wooded and open areas.
- Caution: Be aware of areas of high and low pavement when running/walking.
- Weather Impact: One low area may cause the event to be postponed if it rains prior: the trail will be surveyed the day before.
