Run For Freedom 5K and 10K

🏃‍♂️ Event Overview

The 23rd annual Run for Freedom 5K and 10K, sponsored by the West Central Missouri Veterans Assistance League (VAL), will be at 8 a.m. Sept. 13 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg. Runners from all over West Central Missouri and Eastern Kansas participate in this event to help enhance the lives of the veterans who live at the Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg.

🏅 Race Details

• Types of Race: 5K and 10K run that is USATF certified.
• Timing: Uses a professional timing company to document running times.
• Medals: Presented to the top three finishers in each age category for the run by the veterans who live at the home.
• Impact: Veterans enjoy giving back to those who are instrumental in making the final chapters of their lives better.

💖 Beneficiary Information

Proceeds will go towards programs that improve the quality of our veterans' lives. In 2023, we were able to purchase a Tovertafel for our Alzheimer's unit, bring the American Veterans Traveling Tribute exhibit to the home, take a group of veterans on an overnight trip to Branson, and provide a variety of special meals like steak, shrimp, and lobster, host a weekly hour with live entertainment, and so much more.
