🏃‍♂️ Joplin's Favorite Family Tradition

Welcome to the 13th Annual Joplin Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk in Downtown Joplin! Runners and walkers are encouraged to join us on Thanksgiving morning for what has become a family tradition for many. This CERTIFIED 5K course begins and ends right in front of Joplin City Hall on Main Street, which is closed to traffic. Participants of the 5K will enjoy:

Event Shirt: a super soft event shirt
Finisher Medal: AMAZING FINISHER MEDAL
Timing: chip timing
Entertainment: Start/finish line announcing by BoCa Enterprises, and music by Resonation

🕖 Race Timing

1 Mile Fun Run: Start Time: 7:30am
5K: Start Time: 8:00am
Packet Pick-up: Early on November 27 at Pennington Station, 11AM-6PM
Race Day: Late packet pick-up from 6:30 am until race start

⌚ Chip Timing

Chip timing provided for all registered 5K participants by Heartland Racing Co.

👕 Event Shirts

Guaranteed Shirt: 5K participants registered by November 14 will be guaranteed an event tee.
First Come, First Serve: After November 14, shirts will be given on a first come, first serve basis.
Fun Run Option: Those participating in the 1 Mile Fun Run can add a shirt for $10 until November 14.

🍩 Post-Race Goodies

Runners will enjoy Krispy Kreme donuts and coffee.

🏆 Awards

Age Categories: 5 year age category increments!
Overall Awards: Prizes for the overall male and female in the 5K.

Specific Age Categories: Awards for ages 12 and under, 13-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+.

🎶 Entertainment

There will be a professional DJ playing music and a professional race emcee keeping runners informed during the event.

📸 Photography

There will be a photographer on course capturing your finish. All photographs are free to download!

🏃‍♀️ 1 Mile Fun Run

Medals: Fun Run participants under the age of 12 will receive a finisher's medal.

Post-Race Snacks: All Fun Run participants will enjoy post-race snacks and festivities.

Shirt Option: Fun Run registration does NOT include a shirt, but a shirt may be purchased.

🏢 Corporate Challenge

The Joplin Turkey Trot Corporate Challenge is a fun way to encourage health and wellness for your employees and their families. Joplin area businesses and organizations will compete in two divisions:

LARGE EMPLOYER DIVISION: 100+ employees

SMALL EMPLOYER DIVISION: under 100 employees

Trophy Presentation: 2023 Joplin Turkey Trot Corporate Challenge Champions will be presented trophies at the Turkey Trot.

Enrollment: Email Starlitrunningco@gmail.com with your organization name and number of employees.

🌐 Virtual 5K Option

Runners who can't attend race day can register for the Virtual 5K. Virtual runners are not eligible for overall or age category awards. Transfers from actual to virtual will not be allowed after online registration closes on November 28. Virtual runner directions:

Run Anytime: Complete your virtual race distance any time during November.

Post Your Time: After November 28, post your time on the Turkey Trot Event page or Starlit Running Co's FB page.

Packet Mailing: Our staff will then mail the virtual race packet.

🧣 Donations

We are accepting donations of handmade or gently loved warm scarves and accessories to be donated to Chase the Chill Joplin!

❓ FAQ

Strollers Allowed? Yes! Please feel free to take your little one/s along for the run.

Pet Friendly? Absolutely! Well-behaved, leashed dogs are allowed on the race course.

Parking: Main Street from 2nd to 7th is closed to traffic. Parking is available on Joplin Avenue and Virginia Avenue.

Walking the Race: Of course! This is a family-oriented event with a great mix of walkers and runners.

Weather Policy: We will run rain or shine, wet or dry! Only in the event of severe weather including lightning will we postpone.
