Wettlauf 5K

🏃‍♂️ Race Details

• Event Starts: The 5K Run/Walk will begin at 8am EST and the 5K Walk Only begins at 8:05am EST.
• Location: Registration and the start of the race take place on Main Street between 8th and 9th Street in Jasper, Indiana.

📦 Early Packet Pickup

• When: Preregistered participants can pick up their bibs and T-shirts anytime from 8am-6pm at the Bosco house on Friday, August 2nd.
• Location: Bosco House, 214 W 13th St., Jasper, IN.
• Race Day Pickup: Packets can also be picked up on race day, Saturday, Aug 3rd, between 7am-7:55am EST by the start line at 808 Main St., Jasper, IN.

🍉 Refreshments

• Available: Free refreshments including fruit and water will be available at the end of the race.

⏱️ Timing

• Timed By: The race will be timed by To The Finish Timing www.tothefinishtiming.com.

🏆 Awards

• Categories: Awards will be presented to the first three places in each division of the male and female categories in the 5K Run.
• Overall Winner: An award will also be presented to the overall winner in the male and female categories.
• T-shirts and Awards: Participants will receive a unique Strassenfest Wettlauf t-shirt (while supplies last). All t-shirts and awards are courtesy of Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center.

👥 Race Divisions

• Age Groups: For men and women: 0-10 years, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and over.

🏞️ The Course

• Path: The 5K run includes rolling, paved city streets.
• Markings: The route is well-marked, policed, and has ample water stations.
• Mile Splits: There will be mile splits throughout the course.

🚫 Additional Notes

• Dogs: No dogs are allowed in this race.
• Registration: Pre-registrants can fill out their registration before the race and deliver it to the Bosco House, located at 214 W 13th Street in Jasper, IN.
• T-shirts: Only a limited number of t-shirts of varying sizes are ordered. Size requests will be honored while supplies last.

🎉 After the Races

• Festival: The Wettlauf is part of a four-day German festival in Jasper.
• Dates: The festival begins on Thursday, August 1st, and continues through Sunday, August 4th, 2024.
• Activities: The fest features numerous food booths, rides, exhibits, concessions, events, and competitions in the Jasper area while celebrating German heritage with a “Street Festival” or Strassenfest!
