Spring Fling 5k Run/Walk

🏃‍♂️ Race Overview

Join us for the second annual Spring Fling 5k Run/Walk hosted by the Wichita Falls Runners Club (WFRC).

This great course starts at the Main Pavilion at Hamilton Park and winds along the Circle Trail adjacent to Holliday Creek. Runners and walkers will enjoy the undulating out-and-back course that passes the Weeks Park Golf Course and then returns to an enthusiastic finish line crowd. The trail is a fully paved 10ft wide path.

Join us on Saturday, May 3 for a fun outdoor experience.

📅 Event Schedule

• Packet Pickup: Packet pickup is from 7.00 am the morning of the event at the Main Pavilion, Hamilton Park.
• Saturday, May 4:
  • 7.00 am - Check-in and packet pickup opens
  • 7.50 am - Runners and walkers line up
  • 8.00 am - 5k Run/Walk commences
  • 9.10 am - Awards presentation
• Post-Race: Once you cross the finish line, relax, and enjoy a post-run beverage and snack while you wait for your family and friends. There are also two playgrounds onsite to keep the kids amused.

• Event t-shirt: T-shirts and t-shirt sizes only guaranteed until the cutoff date of April 17, 2024.
• Finishers medallion: Celebrate your accomplishment!
• Chip timing: Accurate tracking of your performance.
• Refreshments: Enjoy refreshments post-race.

🏅 Age Group Awards

This event will be offering Age Group Awards. The top finishers in each age category will receive a custom age group award!

The age group categories are:

• 10 and under:
• 11-14:
• 15-19:
• 20-29:
• 30-39:
• 40-49:
• 50-59:
• 60-69:
• 70-79:
• 80 plus:

Age group awards are only available the day of the event and will not be available for shipment once the event has concluded.

⏱️ Timing

The Spring Fling is timed and scored by the WFRC timing team. Results will be posted on RunSignup directly after the event finishes.

❓ FAQ's

• Is walking allowed? Yes absolutely! We have many walkers, joggers, and run/walkers at this event!
• Are strollers allowed? You are welcome to use a stroller for this event, but all strollers will be asked to start at the back of the group in order to have our runners leave the start line safely.
• Is the race dog friendly? We love dogs, but for runner safety we don’t allow dogs on the course.
• Where do I park? There are many parking spaces at Lucy Park near the pavilion, but be sure to arrive early for your event.

What happens if it rains? The Spring Fling takes place rain or shine, and there are no refunds due to weather events.
