Spring Fling 5k Run/Walk

🌸 Event Overview

Join us for the third annual Spring Fling 5k Run/Walk hosted by the Wichita Falls Runners Club.

This great course starts at the Main Pavilion (next to the Sound Garden) at Lucy Park and winds along a shady tree-lined trail adjacent to the Wichita River. Runners and walkers will enjoy the undulating out-and-back course that passes the Wichita Falls waterfall and then returns to an enthusiastic finish line crowd. The trail is a fully paved 10ft wide path.

Join us on Saturday, May 3 for a fun outdoor family experience.

🗓️ Event Schedule

• Packet Pickup: Packet pickup is from 7.00 am the morning of the event at the Main Pavilion, Lucy Park.
• Check-in Time: 7.00 am - Check-in and packet pickup opens
• Line Up: 7.50 am - Runners and walkers line up
• Race Start: 8.00 am - Fun 5k Run/Walk commences

Once you cross the finish line, relax, and enjoy a post-run beverage and snack while you wait for your family and friends. There are also two playgrounds onsite to keep the kids amused.

🎁 What You Will Receive!

• Event T-shirt: Choose either the Sport-Tek Tee or Tank design*
• Finishers Medallion: Every participant receives a medallion upon completion.
• Photos: Free downloadable pictures of the event.
• Refreshments: A variety of refreshments for all participants.

*T-shirts and t-shirt sizes only guaranteed until the cutoff date of April 18, 2024.

• Event Headquarters: Main starting point of the race.
• Turnaround: The point for the 5k participants to turn around.
• Hydration Station: Located along the course for participant refreshment.

⏱️ Timing

This is a self-timed event, a large timing clock will be visible at the finish line.

❓ FAQ's

• Walking Allowed: Yes, absolutely! We have many walkers, joggers, and run/walkers at this event!
• Strollers: You are welcome to use a stroller for this event, but all strollers will be asked to start at the back of the group for safety.
• Dog Friendly: We love dogs, but for runner safety we don’t allow dogs on the course.
• Parking: There are many parking spaces at Lucy Park near the pavilion. Arrive early for parking and check-in.

What happens if it rains? The Spring Fling takes place rain or shine, and there are no refunds due to weather events. We will do everything possible to hold the Spring Fling as scheduled, but participant safety is our top concern. Stay connected for updates via the Spring Fling Event Page or the WFRC Facebook page.
