Alger Heights Halloween 5k

🎃 AFTER 5 YEARS OFF - ALGER HEIGHTS HALLOWEEN 5K IS BACK!

Come run, jog, walk, or stroll with us at the 12th Alger Heights Halloween 5K on Saturday, October 26th! Costumes are encouraged at this family friendly event! All 5K participants are chip timed as they run through scenic Alger Heights during peak fall colors.

👻 COMMUNITY COSTUME CONTEST - NO RACE REGISTRATION NECESSARY

On race day be sure to swing by our photo booth to have your picture taken and sign up for the community costume contest. This is open to everyone, not just those participating in the 5k. There will be prizes from Alger Bike and Gazelle Sports for:

• Best individual over 18: Prizes available
• Best individual under 10: Prizes available
• Best individual 11-18: Prizes available
• Best group costumes: 4 more prizes

🕑 START TIME:

10 AM

💵 ENTRY FEE:

• Early Registration: $30 through September 8th (includes long sleeve race t-shirt)
• Sept 9th to Oct 13th: $35 (includes long sleeve race t-shirt)
• Oct 14th to Oct 25th: $40 (long sleeve t-shirts included while supplies last)
• Race Day Registration: $45

Youth pricing: Ages 18 and under are only $25 until October 13th, includes a t-shirt. $30 from October 14th-October 25th, t-shirts included while supplies last.

Family pricing: When 3 or more people sign up at the same time they receive $3 off a participant.

⏱️ RESULTS:

Your accurate chip time and current overall and age group place will be texted to your phone and live on this site. The race will be professionally timed by the Michigan Running Foundation.

Metals and sponsor prizes from Gazelle Sports and Brass Ring Brewery for the following age categories for female, male and non-binary:

• 18 and under: Awards available
• 19-29: Awards available
• 30-39: Awards available
• 40-49: Awards available

• Over 60: Awards available

Awards will be available race day starting at 11:00 am.

🏃 COURSE:

The historic Alger Heights Halloween 5k loop is back! Going through many of the parts of the Alger Heights neighborhood that you have come to love. This year the course will start and end on Alger St. in front of the parking lot behind the business district on the east side of Eastern Ave. For those who love chasing Strava segments, the route has three: the Walsh 1/2 mi, Union EasyUp, and the South Ottillia. All proceeds from the race go to the Alger Heights Business Association. These funds will be held separately by AHBA for future races, Alger Heights events, and neighborhood improvements.
