Run for Rhonda

🌟 Join Us for the 2nd Annual Run for Rhonda 5K!

Lace up your sneakers and be part of a fun-filled day honoring the incredible life of Rhonda Flores. This family-friendly event, offering something for everyone, will take place on Sunday, May 4, 2025, and includes a 5K, 1-mile run/walk, and a free ¼-mile kids run just for fun.

The run begins and ends near the Ingham Ship, following 3 loops of the promenade at the beautiful Truman Waterfront where there is plenty of room to move and lots for kids to enjoy at the playground and splash park.

🎉 Fiesta Fun & Costume Contest!

This year we are bringing a Costume Contest to the celebration! Let your creativity shine as you compete in the following categories:

• Most Edible: Showcase your love of food with a tasty-looking creation!
• Fiesta Upcycled: Turn everyday items into something uniquely festive.
• The Pinata: Go all out with colorful flair and surprises.
• Squad Goals: Rally your team for a show-stopping group ensemble.

Stick around after the race for an exciting fiesta after-party with snacks, margaritas, and music by DJ Jimmy Jamz!

💖 Support Local Students

All proceeds benefit Take Stock in Children-Monroe County, supporting local students in need.

• 5K Top 3 Overall Male & Female Finishers: receive winner’s medals.
• 5K 12 & Under Top 3 Overall Male & Female Finishers: receive winner's medals.
• 1 Mile Top 3 Overall Male & Female Finishers: receive winner's medals.
• Best costumes: receive special recognition.
• 50/50 raffle: winner receives half the pot.

🏃‍♂️ Race Details

Check-in: 7:00 AM
Race Start: 8:00 AM

• 5K: 3 loops of the promenade.
• 1 Mile: 1 loop of the promenade.
• Chipped Timing: Live results posted immediately after the race.
• Finisher Medal: All participants will receive an official Run for Rhonda medal upon completion.
• Swag Bag: Every runner gets a drawstring bag filled with sponsor merchandise.

We will have a water station available for you to fill your own bottles.

👕 Register Early!

The first 50 registrants for the 5K will receive a memorial Run for Rhonda T-shirt!

📦 Packet Pick Up

Location: Truman Waterfront under the tent on the grassy area near the parking lot closest to the Ingham ship.

Date & Time: Saturday May 3rd, 2pm-4pm & Sunday May 4th, 7am-7:45am
