Event Description

• Celebrate Earth Day: Experience adventure at the TMC Earth Day 5K!
• Majestic Backdrop: Run against the stunning Santa Catalina Mountains.
• Course Type: A scenic 3.1-mile route through the Biosphere 2.
• Finish Line: Conclude your run on the iconic Great Lawn of the Biosphere 2.

Event Highlights

• Free Souvenir Shirt: Available for all registrants (first 750).
• Commemorative Medal: An optional add-on for purchase.
• Awards: Overall and age-group awards provided by The Running Shop.
• Support a Cause: Proceeds benefit the Ocean Reef Research Project.

Registration Details

• Adult Registration: $40 includes 5K entry, bib with a personalized finisher video, shirt, snacks, and admission to Biosphere 2.
• Youth Registration: $10 for kids 14 and under includes 5K entry and access to Biosphere 2 (shirt not included).
• Spectator Admission: Free for spectators, discounted admission for non-runners is $10.
• Child Admission: Kids under 12 enter free.

Exclusive Biosphere 2 Experience

Your race entry grants access to the 3.14-acre living laboratory, featuring:

• Cutting-Edge Research: Explore environmental studies such as the Landscape Evolution Observatory.
• Indoor Ecosystems: Discover rainforests, wetlands, savanna grasslands, fog deserts, and a living ocean.
• Self-Guided Access: Participants can visit without a formal tour.
• Post-Race Refreshments: Local food trucks and snacks available.

Schedule

Thursday, April 16:

• 4:00 - 6:00 PM: Packet pickup at The Running Shop, 3055 North Campbell, Tucson.
• Shirt sizes are first-come, first-served for the first 750 registrants.
• You can pick up for others and shop at The Running Shop.
• Be sure to bring safety pins for your number.

Saturday, April 17:

• 7:15-8:15 AM: Race day registration and packet pick up at Biosphere 2.
• 8:30 AM: Start time for 5K Run/Walk.
• 9:45 AM: Free Kids Dash.
• 10:00 AM: Awards presentation and remaining shirts available for pickup.

Bring the Kids!

• Special Pricing: $10 registration for children 14-and-under includes race number and timing.
• Kid's Dash: Free activities following the 5K.
• Strollers: Welcome, but be cautious of steep hills.
• Do Good: Supports the Biosphere 2's Ocean Reef Lab.

Additional Information

• Terrain: Mostly pavement with some dirt sections.
• Difficulty: Hilly areas present along the route.
• Weather: Expect temperatures in the 50s - 70s.
• Differently Abled: Accessibility considered, but hills and dirt pathways exist.
