There is Race Day Registration starting at 9 am (may be opened at 830am)

Start the year off on the right foot.

📜 INTRO:

• Benefit: This is a benefit 5k for the Ligonier Borough Volunteer Fire Company all Proceeds go directly to them.
• Excitement: Excited to be able to bring this race back to the Ligonier area for the 3rd year to kick off the start of 2025.
• Experience: We want everyone to have a good time while having a great healthy start, that we hope you continue to follow throughout the year.
• Join Us: Hope you come and join us. We will do our best to give you a great race and race experience.

🎽 BIB/SHIRT PICKUP:

• Location: This will be at the trailhead at the far end of the football field where the finish line will also be.

🏁 COURSE INFORMATION:

• Style: The course for the most part is a out and back style course.
• Route: It will begin in front of Weller field little past where you go into the stadium to pay.
• Water Stops: There will be a water stop at the trailhead by the baseball field if you need a drink.
• Conditions: This being January 5th be prepared for all weather conditions. The trail will not be plowed.

💲 PRICING:

• Early Rate: Pricing is $20 until December 15th at 8pm.
• Standard Rate: After that, it becomes $25 till registration closes January 4th at 1pm.
• Race Day: $30 day of the race.
• Shirt Option: People have spoken and since not everyone wants a shirt we are giving you the option to add a shirt while registering for an additional $5.

🏆 AWARDS:

• Overall Prizes: Top 3 M & F overall, top 3 in each age group for the run.
• Walk Prizes: Top 3 M & F for Walk.
• Eligibility: Children 10 and under must run race under their own power to be eligible for age group awards.
• Time Limit: 1 Hour 05 minutes. (20:55 minute pace per mile)

🕒 SCHEDULE FOR THE RACE:

• 9 am: Registration opens (possibly earlier)
• 9:50 am: Registration closes
• 10:00 am: Race starts
• 11:05 am: Race ends (must be across mats by 11:05am to be included in results)

🚶 WALK DIVISION:

• Awards: Top 3 overall Male and top 3 overall Females who are in the walk division.
• Age Groups: Age groups to line up with the run category.
• Time Frame: You must also finish within the 1:05 time frame.
• Strict Rules: There is no running allowed. You will be disqualified if caught running.

🖊️ REGISTRATION:

• Opens: 9:00 am (maybe earlier depending on registration numbers)
• Closes: 9:50 am.
• Start Time: Race starts at 10:00 am sharp.
• Awards: At 11:10 am. Must be across mats at 11:05 am to qualify for awards.

🎁 WHAT'S INCLUDED:

• Bib Number: Custom race Bib Number.
• Snacks: Safe environment, post race snacks chance to make lasting memories.
• T-Shirt: Custom unisex t-shirt if you purchased one while registering before the shirt deadline.
• Photos: There will also be pictures taken of you, for you to share.

📝 RESULTS:

• Availability: Results will be posted online after the race at www.smileymiles.com.
• Patience: Please be patient, it may take 24 hours for results to be fully posted.

🍔 FOOD/LIQUIDS:

• Water: We will provide water at the mid way point.
• Snacks: There will also be post race snacks, I will try to have nice standard variety.
• Finish Line: There will also be water at the finish line.

🅿️ PARKING:

• Normal Parking: Will be how you normally would for a game or to use the playground.
• Location: Plenty of parking between Friendship Park and Weller field.
• Finish Line: Strongly discourage use of the lower end parking lot if you have to leave before awards are all given out.
• Street Parking: More parking in front of the field and through local streets.

⚖️ RULES:

• No Pets: We ask no pets be brought on the course or around the event.
• Headphones: Allowed, but please listen at a reasonable volume.
• Strollers: Are allowed but be respectful of other participants.
• No Smoking: No smoking, alcohol or drug use is permitted in any area the race will be using.

📋 SHIRT POLICY:

• Purchase Requirement: To receive a shirt, you must purchase the $5 add-on during registration by December 15th at 8pm.
• No Extras: Extras will not be ordered for those missing the shirt deadline or registering day of.
• Post Race Sales: Shirts of runners that did not show up will be sold for $5 to those who missed the shirt deadline.
• No Mailing: No shirts will be ordered after the race and will not be mailed.

📅 MISC:

• Respect the Area: Please respect the trail, course, and parking areas.
• Photo Op: There will be a photo op
