The 18th Edition of the Mississippi Blues Marathon will start and finish at the Mississippi State Capitol next to the Mississippi Supreme Court. As a special treat for the 2025 event, we will be celebrating the 100th Birthday of both Mr. BB King and Mr. Medgar Evers. These two giants from Mississippi changed the culture and music for generations leading up to this centennial celebrations. Join us for a morning of Family, Fitness and Fun at the 2015 Mississippi Blues Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K, 5K and the BB Kids Half Mile Fun Run. #RunTheBlues
The Start/Finish area is located on George Street across from the MS State Capitol Green Space. All races will start and finish in the same location on George Street, near the Mississippi State Supreme Court.
Special Treat: Cup Cakes will be served honoring both Mr. BB King & Mr. Medgar Evers on their Centennial Birthday Celebrations to each official finisher!
People say the blues was born in Mississippi, traveled to Memphis in its youth and grew up in Chicago, but the truth is – the blues never left home. If you’ve never heard the Mississippi blues, you’ve never heard the real thing. The unique Mississippi art form of the blues has long been recognized as the foundation for many of today’s musical styles.
