East Andover Village Preschool Everyday Heroes 5K

🏃‍♂️ Event Overview

If you haven’t heard of our little “school on the hill,” let us introduce ourselves. We have an amazing, non-profit preschool program for children ages 3-5 years old living in Andover and the surrounding area. As you can imagine our days are filled with excitement, exploration, observations, and experimentation!

• Mission: To develop our children’s love for learning!
• Theme: Everyday Heroes to honor those who work hard to help keep our world going on a day-to-day basis.
• Examples: Police officers, fireman, doctors, teachers, military personnel, and anyone else you consider an Everyday Hero in your life.

🎭 Costume Encouragement

We would like to encourage racers to dress up in costumes for the race to honor the people who you feel help keep our communities thriving.

• Kids' Participation: Kids are also encouraged to dress as their heroes!
• Creativity: They can be creative as they want whether their hero is a firefighter, Superman, or Chase from Paw Patrol!

🚒 Local Heroes Recognition

We are also excited to be able to recognize our local heroes at the East Andover Fire Station.

• Touch a Truck: We will be hosting a touch a truck event with both a fire truck and police cruiser.
• Experience: To provide people with an up-close look at the vehicles our local everyday heroes use.

🏅 Race Details

We will have:

• 5K: A walk/run for all ages.
• 1 Mile Run: For kids ages 6 to 10.
• Fun Run: For kids ages 5 and under.

🕘 Race Day Schedule

Racers can begin arriving at 9:00 A.M. to pick up your packets that will contain your bib and t-shirt.

• Fun Run: Begins at 9:15 A.M.
• Kids One Mile Race: Follows the Fun Run.
• 5K Start: Officially begins at 9:30 A.M.

🗺️ Race Course

The race will begin on the Northern Rail Trail in front of the East Andover fire station and will include:

• Route: Continues down the rail trail towards Agony Hill Rd.
• Turn: Runners will turn slight right onto Agony Hill Rd.
• Finish: Follow the trail back to the finish line after a small clearing in the woods.

🎉 Post-Race Activities

There will be activities for the kids to participate in after they have completed the 1 mile race and fun run.
