Virtual Ostomy 5k - Worldwide

🎉 Celebrate UOAA’s 20th Anniversary with Us on World Ostomy Day!

Join the movement! On Saturday, October 4, 2025, let’s celebrate World Ostomy Day by participating in the Virtual Run for Resilience Ostomy 5k. This marks the 11th year of our empowering Virtual 5k event as well as United Ostomy Associations of America’s 20th Anniversary!

Complete the 5k your way—walk, run, roll, swim, pedal, or even count your steps on the journey leading up to the big day. Whether outdoors or on a treadmill at home, the choice is yours to celebrate resilience and unity in the ostomy community.

Gather your friends, family, colleagues, or fellow ASG members to honor this milestone together. Every step you take helps support UOAA’s vital mission. As a 501(c)(3) charity organization, your generous donations are tax deductible.

🌍 Event Details

The Registration Fee of $30.00 includes a unisex adult or youth size T-Shirt and Bib. Take advantage of Early Bird pricing through July 25th and save $5.00!

🤝 Create or Join a Race Group/Team!

Once you’ve registered, you also have the option to CREATE a new RACE GROUP/TEAM or to JOIN one that’s already been established. This is a great way to get others in your community to Register to Participate in the Run and compete against each other. Invite family, friends, co-workers to Register, join your Race Group/Team (or start their own), order their T-Shirt & Bib and celebrate the day with you! (Please note this is NOT a Team Fundraiser. 💰 Fundraising Information

FUNDRAISING: Raise $125 or more and your Registration Fee will be refunded!

Fundraising is an important aspect of our Run for Resilience Ostomy 5K. Funds raised help UOAA continue to provide resources, educational materials, advocacy and support to the ostomy and continent diversion community.

We invite you to set up your own Personal or Team Fundraiser when registering to participate in the event, or through our DONATE button at the top of this page. You can create a unique Fundraiser Name and URL address, personalize your fundraising message, and direct your friends and family to your page to join your team or sponsor you in your fundraising goal.

Your commitment to fundraise and support the ostomy and continent diversion community is no small endeavor, and we appreciate your dedication and hard work.

• Empower Level: $225+ in fundraising individually or as a Team Captain.
• Fundraising award: TBA
• Champion Level: $425+ in fundraising individually or as a Team Captain.
• Fundraising award: TBA. The Champion level fundraisers will also receive the Empower level fundraising award.

United Ostomy Associations of America (UOAA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports, empowers and advocates for the estimated 725,000 to 1 Million people who are living with an ostomy or continent diversion across the country. Your generous donation helps us to raise awareness of this life-saving surgery and to continue our mission of promoting their quality of life through information, support, advocacy and collaboration. 🔗 Run Referral Program

Invite 5 other people to register and participate in the Run with you and you will be refunded $20 on YOUR registration! Simply share your unique referral link found on your registration confirmation page (email). The referral program is valid for all in-person run locations and the virtual event so even if they cannot join you where you are, they can still celebrate from afar!

🎊 Celebrate the Day!

• Complete your 5k: Run, walk, roll, or pedal a 5k (3.1 miles) route of your choice near you. Ask your family and friends to join you and create your own group or mini-event. You can even run/walk on a treadmill or ride a stationary bike to reach your goal!
• Share your success: Take pictures of yourself doing your virtual race and email them to us or tag us on Facebook or Instagram.
• Promote awareness: Promote ostomy awareness and education to your family, friends and community on Ostomy Awareness Day. Post your experience to both UOAA's Facebook page and the Run for Resilience Ostomy 5k Facebook page!
• Use hashtags: Hashtag your photos #RunforResilience, #WorldOstomyDay and #OstomyAwareness, we may share on UOAA's pages on Twitter or Instagram.
